Guthrie Theater Hosts Flying Foot's 'French Twist'

The Guthrie Theater is pleased to present Flying Foot Forum's French Twist, a foot-stomping, heart-stopping, slap-happy faux-French pastiche of dance, song and comedy that's both inspiring and entertaining. Directed and choreographed by Joe Chvala, French Twist begins May 8 and runs through May 18, 2008, in the Dowling Studio. 'Figaro' Begins at Berkeley Rep April 25

This spring, Berkeley Repertory Theatre's 40th birthday party comes to a gorgeous crescendo with the West Coast premiere of Figaro. After bringing us a delicious date with The Miser in 2006, the Tony Award-winning Theatre de la Jeune Lune returns for another eccentric take on a timeless text. Inspired by Mozart and Beaumarchais, Figaro is adapted by Steven Epp and Dominique Serrand, who also perform the lead roles alongside exceptional actors, superb singers, and a live string quartet. Presented in Berkeley Rep's state-of-the-art Roda Theatre, this magical production begins previews on April 25, opens April 29, and closes June 8.

Sally Wingert to Star in 'Third' at The Guthrie, Begins 2/16

The Guthrie today announced that veteran Twin Cities actor Sally Wingert will lead the cast of Third, Wendy Wasserstein's candid and uncompromising portrait of a woman entering the third part of her life. Casey Stangl will direct the production, the first Wasserstein work ever produced by the Guthrie. Third begins previews February 16 and runs through March 30 on the McGuire Proscenium Stage.

The Guthrie is proud to present its 33rd annual production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol on the Wurtele Thrust Stage. Adapted by Barbara Field and again under the direction of Gary Gisselman, A Christmas Carol will feature actor Raye Birk, who returns to play Ebenezer Scrooge for the third consecutive year. A Christmas Carol begins previews November 20, opens November 23 and plays through December 29, 2007.
