Rising Phoenix Repertory is pleased to announce the publication of the second issue of its theater literary magazine Caffe Cino, edited by Steve McMahon and Daniel Talbott. Inspired by Joe Cino and his original Caffe Cino in New York City's Greenwich Village, Talbott and McMahon invited a group of theater artists to contribute essays, interviews, and previously unpublished plays.

The world premiere production of The Convent, a new play by critically acclaimed playwright Jessica Dickey (The Amish Project, Charles Ives Take Me Home), directed by Daniel Talbott, opened just last night! Presented by Weathervane Productions (Wendy Vanden Heuvel, Producer), Rising Phoenix Repertory (Daniel Talbott, Artistic Director; Addie Johnson Talbott, Artistic Associate), in association with Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, the production will run through February 17, 2019 at the Mezzanine Theatre at A.R.T./New York Theatres (502 West 53rd Street).

Inspired by the power struggle between the richest of the Oligarchs and an ambitious Vladimir Putin after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Lin (House of Cards) explores U.S. - Russia relations then and now. Directed by Jackson Gay, and by special arrangement with Robert Ahrens, Mickey Liddell and Michael Mills, Kleptocracy runs January 18 - February 24, 2019 in the Kreeger Theater.

League Of Professional Theatre Women Releases Fourth Women Count Report

The League of Professional Theatre Women (Kelli Lynn Harrison & Catherine Porter, Co-Presidents) has published the fourth in a series of reports authored by Martha Wade Steketee with Judy Binus, on the status of women employed in New York City theaters. The fourth report, Women Count: Women Hired Off Broadway, available at theatrewomen.org/women-count/, analyzes employment in 13 professional roles - playwrights, directors, designers, stage managers, and others - in 515 Off- and Off-Off-Broadway productions by 22 theater companies for 5 complete seasons, 2013-14 through 2017-18 to show where women are and are not being hired.
