George Street Presents Cuccioli and Mayes in 'A Holiday Cabaret' 12/20-12/21

George Street Playhouse is celebrating the December holidays in a big way with a series of musical performances for a special Holiday Cabaret. The musical celebration will feature the talents of Tony Award nominee Robert Cuccioli, who is currently performing at George Street Playhouse in Conor McPherson's The Seafarer. Mr. Cuccioli received a Tony Nomination and is perhaps best known for playing the title role in Broadway's Jekyll & Hyde. Joining Mr. Cuccioli will be fellow Tony nominee Sally Mayes from the recent Broadway revival of She Loves Me. Christopher Howatt will serve as musical director and performer for the revue. Performances take place Saturday, December 20 at 2 and 8PM, and Sunday, December 21 at 2PM.

This February, THE STORY OF MY LIFE, a new musical comes to Broadway. Starring Will Chase (Rent, Aida, The Full Monty) and Tony Award nominee Malcolm Gets (Amour, Merrily We Roll Along, 'Caroline in the City'), the show is directed by Tony Award winner Richard Maltby, Jr. (Ain't Misbehavin', Song & Dance), THE STORY OF MY LIFE features a score by Neil Bartram and a book by Brian Hill. Performances begin Tuesday, February 3rd on Broadway at The Booth Theatre (222 West 45th Street). Opening night is Thursday, February 19th at 7:30PM.

New York Festival of Song, whose recent 'A Bernstein/Bolcom Celebration' was performed with 'Comic and dramatic flair,'(The New York Times) presents Fugitives, songs by composers who fled Hitler's Europe, on November 18 and 20 at the newly restored Merkin Concert Hall in New York. Esteemed conductor Lorin Maazel, Music Director of the New York Philharmonic, will return to the Met Radio Broadcasts after a 45 year absence with Wagner's Die Walküre, which will be broadcast live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 12:30 pm EST on February 2, 2008. Maestro Maazel conducts at the Met this season for the first time since his last appearance with the company in 1963. He leads a superb cast which includes sopranos Lisa Gasteen as Brünnhilde (in her Network Broadcast debut) and Deborah Voigt as Sieglinde, mezzo-soprano Michelle DeYoung as Fricka, Clifton Forbis as Siegmund, Mikhail Petrenko as Hunding, and James Morris as Wotan.

The New Mel Brooks Musical Young Frankenstein, a new musical comedy from the creative team of the 12-time Tony Award winning smash The Producers, will open on Broadway November 8th 2007 at the Hilton Theatre (213 W 42nd St).
