 Previews for WAM Theatre's mainstage production of Holy Laughter by Catherine Trieshmann start on Thursday, October 29 and run through Saturday, October 31 at 7:30 pm at the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center at 36 Linden Street in Pittsfield. Tickets for preview performances are just $18. This developmental workshop production officially opens at the 2 pm performance on Sunday, November 1, and continues performances Fridays at 7:30 pm, Saturdays at 2 & 7:30 pm, and Sundays at 2 pm through November 22. The production is recommended for ages 13 and up.

As usual, WAM Theatre is offering a variety of audience enrichment events in conjunction with their fall MainStage production. This year's events include a lobby display featuring this year's beneficiaries, talkbacks with the cast and design team and a writing workshop on comedy with the playwright.

As rehearsals begin for WAM Theatre's fall MainStage production of HOLY LAUGHTER the company is basking in the glow of a successful season of 'Fresh Takes' Play Readings. Curated by WAM's Artistic Associate Molly Clancy, all five of this year's plays were penned by living female playwrights,  directed by women and featured many local professional theatre artists.

Barrington Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson, will present the new play VEILS by Tom Coash, from tonight, October 1, through October 18, with a press opening Sunday, October 4 at 3pm..

Tickets are now on sale for WAM Theatre's fall MainStage production of Holy Laughter, scheduled for for October 29-November 22 at the St. Germain Stage in the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center in Pittsfield. This poignant comedy follows Abigail, an Episcopal priest who finds that the reality of leading a church is radically and hilariously different than what she learned in seminary. Hymns, liturgical dance and a wicked tongue lift playwright Catherine Trieschmann's antic portrait of a small, struggling congregation to comic heights. This will be the first workshop production of this new play, which is still in development.

The award-winning songwriter Joe Iconis returned to Barrington Stage Company with his popular cabaret, Joe Iconis & Family: Outcast Superstars. The first of three performances took place at Mr. Finn's Cabaret, at the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center in Pittsfield last night and Broadwayworld was on the scene to catch shots of the evening. Last night Barrington Stage Company presented the World Premiere of Engagements by Lucy Teitler and BroadwayWorld was there. Directed by Louisa Proske (BSC debut), Engagements stars (in their BSC debuts) Amanda Quaid (Irish Rep's The Weir) as Lauren, Kate Loprest (First Date) as Allison, Adam Gerber (George Street Playhouse The Whipping Man) as Ryan, Phoebe Strole (Spring Awakening) as Catherine, and Robert David Grant (Yale Rep Hamlet) as Mark.
