Medwish International hosts Music for Medwish an intimate evening featuring some of Broadway's best in Los Angeles on Monday, April 15th at 8pm at the Rockwell Table and Stage (1714 N Vermont Ave). Produced by Broadway actress and producer Betsy Werbel (Wicked) the event raises funds for Medwish, a not-for-profit organization that repurposes discarded medical supplies and equipment to provide humanitarian aid around the world saving lives - and the environment.

If you take a step back and really think about it, musical theatre is pretty absurd.  Actors stop talking and burst into elaborate song and dance numbers, which are often great to watch, but you feel like if aliens landed on Broadway and went to a show, they would have a very strange idea of what human beings are like.  That's just one of myriad themes in SOMETHING ROTTEN. Not the part about aliens, but this show is more of a snarky love letter to musical theatre that also happens to contain insanely great song and dance numbers, as well as a few excellent dick jokes.  It's something for everyone, and it's a show so layered with inside jokes that it begs to be watched over and over again.

Whether you love 'em or hate 'em, the more you know about Shakespeare and Broadway musicals, the more SOMETHING ROTTEN will have you laughing out loud.

A Balancing Act: The Podcast launched its second season on May 1st!

The completely original new musical Something Rotten!, directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon, Aladdin), with music and lyrics by Grammy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Wayne Kirkpatrick and Golden Globe Award and Tony Award nominee Karey Kirkpatrick and a book by Tony Award nominees Karey Kirkpatrick and best-selling author John O'Farrell, opens at The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts on May 1-6, 2018.

Straight from Broadway, SOMETHING ROTTEN! is currently on tour across the country, and is coming to the Fox Theatre in Atlanta this week. SOMETHING ROTTEN! is a musical filled with laughs, it is a 'valentine to the theatre', and one not to be missed by musical theatre fans. BroadwayWorld spoke with Josh Grisetti who plays Nigel Bottom in SOMETHING ROTTEN! on tour, and played the same role in the Broadway production.

The completely new original musical Something Rotten! is appearing in East Lansing starting March 13th as part of the MSU Federal Credit Union Broadway at the Wharton Center series. 'It makes fun of things that you love about theatre and things you don't like about theatre and it makes you laugh.'

Oh, remember those great mega-musicals from the 90's? There was LES MISERABLES AND PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and OMELETTE: MUSICAL...Well OMELETTE was the little known musical from the 1590's, not 1990's, that is the subject of the riotous National Tour now playing at Shea's Buffalo Theatre, aptly named SOMETHING ROTTEN!
