The York Theatre Company in association with Richard J. Robin, President, Wells St. Productions LLC, will present the New York premiere of A Sign of the Times, a new musical featuring the songs of Petula Clark, Lesley Gore, Dusty Springfield, and other classic pop hits of the 1960s.

Post-pandemic Nashville theater audiences have witnessed a groundswell of creativity as local companies have made the production of original works part of their programming initiatives. While the result might best be described as hit-or-miss depending on perspective, one company’s efforts have been constant, abiding and transformative. Tennessee Playwrights Studio, co-founded by Molly Breen and Kenley Smith, has led this creative renaissance since its very beginnings and over the past several years has been responsible for nurturing the talents of a wide array of artists. We could not be more grateful to TPS and its founders for everything they’ve accomplished; it is truly noteworthy.

Ren Gyo Soh and Joseph Ehrenpreis have announced their collaborative production, ICEBERG, which will be presented in May 13 rd Saturday 2023 at Grace and St. Paul's Church in NYC.

Rehearsals started this week at York Theatre Royal for the world premiere production of Gus Gowland's new musical Mayflies, which runs from April 28 to May 13.

A Sign of the Times, a new musical featuring the songs of Petula Clark and multiple hit-makers of the 1960s, is set to have a developmental reading October 24-28, 2022. The new musical has made several script revisions and now features a book by Lindsey Hope Perlman (Cassandra Complex), based on an original story by Richard Robin.

The Rochester Fringe Festival announced its line-up of site-specific shows; 19 uniquely different productions will be featured during the annual 12-day performance extravaganza. Now in its eleventh year, the festival begins on Tuesday, September 13 and runs daily through Saturday, September 24, 2022.

The PATH Fund Inc. has announced the release of Purple Rain, featuring Tony Award-winner (The Color Purple) and current nominee (Trouble in Mind), LaChanze, the latest single from the new Rockers On Broadway: Live  (Volume 1), an album of the best live performances from Rockers On Broadway concerts over the past 28 years.

In addition to Brightman and Cerveris, the album includes songs from Paul Williams, Micky Dolenz, LaChanze, Christian Hoff, Alice Ripley, Constantine Maroulis, Emma Hunton, Donald Webber Jr., Morgan James, Michael Lanning, Donnie Kehr, and Isabelle Gottfried. The York Theatre Company, in association with Jim Kierstead, Executive Producer, will present a presentation of the new musical Pants! The Jimmy Pants Musical with music and lyrics by Joseph Church (York’s Rothschild and Sons, The Lion King, The Who's Tommy) and book and lyrics by Jeff Bienstock (Legendale).

Featuring incredible vocals from a variety of Tony and Grammy Award-winning artists performing 12 chart-topping hit songs, Rockers On Broadway: Live (Volume 1) is now available on all streaming and download channels worldwide. 

Dr. Joseph Holt will be stepping down as music director of Faith Lutheran Church in Sarasota. He will assume the role of artist in residence for the church, effective March 1, 2022. 

Jimmy Pants, LLC, in association with Kierstead Productions will present two staged readings (by invitation only) of Pants! The Jimmy Pants Musical, a new musical satire, with music and lyrics by Joseph Church and book & lyrics by Jeff Bienstock.

On Sunday night, the volume was turned up in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. That's because the showcase finale of Kristin Chenoweth's Broadway Bootcamp, which this year both LIVE and virtual, concluded with the Kristi Awards.
