Complete cast and crew have been announced for Pride Films and Plays' Chicago premiere of HOLDING THE MAN, a drama from Australia chronicling the 15-year relationship of a real-life gay male couple, based on Timothy Conigrave's celebrated memoir of the same name. In 1976, Tim and John meet as teenagers at their all-boys Catholic school in Melbourne and become boyfriends. The story follows them into adulthood as their relationship endures in spite of such obstacles as parental resistance, differing views on monogamy, separation, and finally HIV.

If you are looking for a wonderfully well-done, dark and layered storyline, with some very fun and slightly scandalous musical numbers, I highly recommend Florida Rep's CABARET. Florida Repertory Theatre's 2017 PlayLab Festival of new plays and emerging voices plays in the Historic Arcade and ArtStage Studio Theatres April 27-30. The 2017 Festival features six new play readings, a keynote address and playwrights' panel, and two premieres of plays that were read as part of last year's PlayLab.

Now playing in Florida Rep's ArtStage Studio Theatre, 'Shear Madness' will extend its nearly sold out run to April 2nd, setting an 11-week record for the theatre. And for its final week, Florida Rep welcomes Lisa McMillan to the cast, who is currently appearing in the New York production.
