God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater is Kurt Vonnegut’s fifth novel and was published in 1965. Its Post-Modern Satire context paved way for Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse-Five, arguably his most well-known work. In the novel, Vonnegut highlights the life and times of the consciously-bound multi-millionaire Eliot Rosewater.

In his fourth appearance with the New York String Orchestra since making his Carnegie Hall debut with the ensemble 23 years ago to the day in 1999, Jonathan Biss joins conductor Jamie Laredo to perform Beethoven's Concerto No. 5 in E-flat major “Emperor” on Saturday, December 28 at 8:00 pm on the Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage.

Donmar Warehouse to Stage UK Premiere of MARYS SEACOLE

Artistic Director Michael Longhurst and Executive Director Henny Finch of the Donmar Warehouse today announce tickets are now on-sale for the company’s first ever relaxed performance for the UK première of Jackie Sibblies Drury’s MARYS SEACOLE. The production opens on 21 April, with previews from 15 April, and runs until 4 June with the relaxed performance being held on 26 May at 11.30am. The first relaxed performance forms part of the Donmar Warehouse’s wider commitment to accessibility.

Their program features George Crumb's Black Angels, the iconic work that inspired the founding of the ensemble, and the New York premiere of a suite from composer Jonathan Berger and librettist Harriet Scott Chessman's opera Mỹ Lai – both written as responses to injustices that occurred during the Vietnam War.

On Friday, November 1, 2019 at 7:30pm, Carnegie Hall presents celebrated South African soprano Golda Schultz in her Carnegie Hall recital debut in Weill Recital Hall with frequent collaborator, pianist Jonathan Ware. Part of Carnegie Hall's series Great Singers III: Evenings of Song, the recital features Schubert's 'Der Morgenkuss,a?? 'Heimliches Lieben,' 'Der Vollmond strahlt auf Bergeshöh'n' (Romanze) from Rosamunde, and Suleika I and II; Richard Strauss' 'Morgen,' 'Heimliche Aufforderung,' 'Ruhe, meine Seele,' and 'Cäcilie;a?? Ravel's Shéhérazade; Amy Marcy Beach's Three Browning Songs, Op. 44; and John Carter's Cantata.

Just yesterday, the American Theatre Wing presented the 2019 Jonathan Larson Grants to Julia Gytri & Avi Amon (book, music and lyrics), Emily Gardner Xu Hall (book, music and lyrics), Andy Roninson (music and lyrics), and Ben Wexler (music and lyrics). Four prestigious grants of $10,000 each, as well as additional support in the form of residencies, concerts, and recording grants, totaling over $50,000, were presented at a private event at the WNYC Greene Space.

Carnegie Hall today announced that pianist Leif Ove Andsnes must regrettably withdraw from his upcoming recital scheduled for Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage due to an injury to his elbow. Mr. Andsnes has canceled this concert and his US recital tour. Pianist Jonathan Biss steps in for Mr. Andsnes on the new program, which features three Beethoven piano sonatas. In the first memoir by a member of the band Journey, keyboardist and songwriter Jonathan Cain shares his remarkable story as well as behind-the-scenes details of his 36-year career with one of America's favorite rock bands. Don't Stop Believin': The Man, the Band, and the Song that Inspired Generations is set for release on May 1, 2018 (Zondervan Trade). The memoir is co-written by Travis Thrasher and coincides with the kick-off of Journey's 58-city summer tour with Def Leppard.
