KAREN FINLEY, the First Lady of Performance Art, has announced the extension of her acclaimed new work THE JACKIE LOOK. Originally scheduled to close March 6, this controversial multimedia work will now run through March 27, 2010 at The Laurie Beechman Theater.

The Blank Theatre Company's second production of its 19th season is Why Torture Is Wrong, and the People Who Love Them by Christopher Durang. Directed by The Blank's Artistic Director Daniel Henning, Why Torture is Wrong will begin preview performances on Saturday, January 30, 2010 and is set to open on Saturday, February 6 at 8pm. The engagement will run through Sunday, March 14.

KAREN FINLEY, the most controversial woman in performance today, will premiere her latest work THE JACKIE LOOK beginning January 23, 2010 at The Laurie Beechman Theater. Originally developed as a site-specific multimedia production for Country Club, the initial September 2009 run was cancelled when the venue suddenly and unexpectedly shuttered. Opening night is slated for January 30, 2010.

Casting is complete and rehearsals have begun for The Blank Theatre Company's second production of its 19th season, Why Torture Is Wrong, and the People Who Love Them by Christopher Durang. Directed by The Blank's Artistic Director Daniel Henning, Why Torture is Wrong will begin preview performances on Saturday, January 30, 2010 and is set to open on Saturday, February 6 at 8pm. After being forced to postpone the world premier of her lastest piece, THE JACKIE LOOK at the Country Club due to the venue's closing this fall, performance artist Karen Finley will now debut the piece at the Laurie Beechman on Saturday, January 23 at 7:30pm. The multimedia show will run consecutive Saturdays at 7:30pm from January 23 - February 27.

False Idols Fall Productions will present the world premiere of Michael Hyman's LOVE WILL TEAR US APART at the Hudson Guild Theatre (6539 Santa Monica Blvd.) in Hollywood. Hyman also directs this play about love, loss, and one's immortality, as a young gay man wanders through the memories of his past loves. Performances run October 16 - November 22, 2009, with the official press opening on Saturday, October 17.
