Michael Franti & Spearhead, Ziggy Marley, Jenny Lewis, and More Set For Deer Valley Concert Series

The second annual Deer Valley Concert Series, presented by Deer Valley Resort in conjunction with The State Room Presents, will begin on June 30, 2019, with a performance by Michael Franti & Spearhead and Ziggy Marley. Jenny Lewis, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals and the John Butler Trio+ are also confirmed to perform in the resort's renowned Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater this summer.

Paul Taylor Dance Company's Bettie De Jong To Receive The 2019 American Dance Festival Distinguished Teaching Award

The American Dance Festival (ADF) will award the 2019 Balasaraswati/Joy Anne Dewey Beinecke Endowed Chair for Distinguished Teaching to longtime Paul Taylor Dance Company rehearsal director Bettie de Jong. A ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 27, 2019 in Reynolds Industries Theater at the opening night performance of the Paul Taylor Dance Company.

Irish Arts Center (IAC), a multidisciplinary center dedicated to bringing people of all backgrounds together through the excellence and dynamism of Irish arts and culture, announces its Spring 2019 season a cross-section of the exhilarating theater, music, dance, literature, art, and genre-defying performance coming from Ireland and Irish America, alongside educational events engaging participants with an array of rich traditions. With performances as wide-ranging as Margaret McAuliffe's acclaimed one-woman play The Humours of Bandon, Declan O'Rourke's epic song cycle Chronicles of the Great Irish Famine, and Paul Muldoon's performance adaptation of a 1773 Irish poem, IAC provides an intimate home for artists' boldest visions. As construction on IAC's landmark permanent new home in Hell's Kitchen takes place just beyond the organization's original location, IAC's vast ambition and accomplishment will be on full display, outside and in, throughout Spring 2019.

Annenberg Center Live and NextMove Dance present the Martha Graham Dance Company in the EVE Project, Friday, January 25 (8 PM) and Saturday, January 26 (2 PM and 7 PM). The EVE Project commemorates the upcoming centennial of the 19th Amendment (which extended the right to vote to American women) with works by all female choreographers, staying true to Graham's tradition of social activism. The program features the Philadelphia premiere of Graham's powerful Chronicle; the first preview performance of Deo, a new work by celebrated choreographers Maxine Doyle and Bobbi Jene Smith, Graham's Diversion of Angels, and Ekstasis by Graham, reimagined by Virginie Mecene. Promising classic country emerging duo, Crawford & Power, have signed exclusive booking representation with APA. The debut EP and single of the same name “Play A Hank Jr. Song” was released to all digital platforms in June 2018 and has been added to Spotify's 90's Country (and some 80's) playlist.
