The world premiere of the new British musical The Little Big Things, based on the best-selling memoir by Henry Fraser, opens @sohoplace on 2 September, with press night on 14 September, and runs until 25 November 2023.

Guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Jonah Tolchin today unveils “Black Hole,” the hypnotic opening track from his upcoming studio album, Lava Lamp. Co-produced with multi-instrumentalist/engineer Nic Coolidge, Lava Lamp was recorded with a three-piece that included Coolidge on bass and Tolchin’s friend and collaborator Kevin Clifford on drums.

The new single, titled “Past The Shadows”, is a sultry and smoky ballad that wraps the heartbreak of its lyrical themes in a warm blanket of horn arrangements and tenderly played keys. Over a year since the lights went out, the Orange Tree Theatre is now entering the realm of live streaming with a new concept: Inside/Outside. This showcase of six new plays is written by both emerging and established writers, who were asked to think about the mental and physical thresholds that we have all been forced to confront during this past year. Inspired by this, the results provide contrasting interpretations of this concept.

This challenging new play, done on Zoom – an emerging new performance medium – examines the common, and sometimes uncommon, obstacles of a high-pressure corporate interview dance in the Zoom era.  

The first three plays, written by Deborah Bruce, Joel Tan and Joe White, focus on the theme of Inside, and will be streamed live 25 – 27 March 2021. The final three plays by Sonali Bhattacharyya, Zoe Cooper and Kalungi Ssebandeke explore the theme of Outside, streamed live 15 – 17 April 2021.

Smoke from the Chimney started out as a number of unadorned voice and guitar demos from White’s home studio before being transformed into full band arrangements harkening back to the albums he recorded in the late 60s and early 70s.
