Helen Mirren has been named the 57th recipient of SAG-AFTRA's highest tribute: the SAG Life Achievement Award. Mirren appeared as Queen Elizabeth II on Broadway in The Audience, a play by Peter Morgan, directed by Stephen Daldry,winning the 2015 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role

Theatre Artist Fund Raises Running Total Of £3.5m; Now Open For Next Round of Applications!

Theatre Artist Fund today announces that thanks to significant investment from Arts Council England, the fund is now open for its next round of applications. The Arts Council has contributed £1 million to the Theatre Artist Fund, following on from the £4 million distributed to benevolent funds earlier in the year as part of its Covid-19 Emergency Response Package.

Further performers have been revealed for Park Theatre's World Premiere murder mystery Whodunnit [Unrehearsed], as Adam Hills, Jason Manford, Neil Morrissey, Clarke Peters and Sandi Toksvig - with the voice of Miriam Margolyes - join the stellar list of participants. Every night, a different guest performer will step onstage to join the rehearsed ensemble of a scripted murder mystery play, having attended no rehearsals, read no script, nor received any direction. Armed only with a hidden earpiece to receive instructions, they will endeavour to solve the crime in real time.

On Sunday 23 June, LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) held its first biennial fundraising gala, hosted by LAMDA President and alumnus Benedict Cumberbatch CBE and LAMDA Chairman, The Rt. Hon Shaun Woodward. VIP guests, LAMDA alumni and current students enjoyed an evening of entertainment at the drama school's West London campus. £230,000 was raised, which will support LAMDA's ongoing work to ensure a wider group of young people can experience world-class Conservatoire training.
