Directed and choreographed by Casey Hushion, the show opens tonight, May 23rd, and runs through July 15th on the WST Mainstage. Christopher Sutton (Buddy), says this is the first time in the history of the Walnut Street Theatre that the same actor has played the same role twice. Sonny Curtis and Jerry Allison, members of the original Crickets band that played with Buddy Holly, were in St. Paul for the opening night of Buddy- The Buddy Holly Story at History Theatre. On Friday prior to the opening, Curtis and Allison were guests during a special session of McNally Smith College of Music's artists and industry class on the History Theatre stage, speaking to a gathering of students and staff from the college. On Saturday evening, they were special guests at a pre-show party, and after the show they met with the cast and crew of Buddy.
