Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd announces the cast and creative team for the theatre's production of A CHRISTMAS CAROL - A GHOST STORY OF CHRISTMAS, staged in the newly renovated Hubbard Theatre.

It is a genuine pleasure to see such a capable cast going through their paces with verve and a certain aplomb. When an ensemble so obviously enjoy what they are doing, it connects instantly with the audience, and a full house roared and applauded throughout the performance.

Alley Theatre's Hubbard Theatre season opener, William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream is the Alley's 22nd Shakespearean production, celebrating the new stage enhancements with an expansive set, live music and 43 detailed costumes outfitting a full 19-member cast. Many of you may be familiar with The Woman in Black due to it being the second longest running play in London's West End (twenty-nine years strong), or perhaps you were pretty spooked by the 2012 film starring Daniel Radcliffe. However you were lured to see this production, Susan Hill's and Stephen Mallatratt's simple masterpiece of a true English horror story, one without gore or unnecessary violence, really makes for quite an intriguing production. Directed by Damian Baldet, who appeared in last season's Outside Mullingar, Cape Rep's The Woman in Black tests our mental reflexes as the battle between belief and disbelief ensues - as the senses are both heightened and chilled by the story surrounding this mysterious woman who haunts and kills, and who is scaring more than just the superstitious townspeople.

Cape Rep's 2016 season continues with The Woman in Black, by Stephen Mallatratt and Susan Hill. This classic ghost story is the second longest running play in London's West End. Arthur Kipps, a middle-aged solicitor, is tortured by an episode from his past when, while settling the estate of an elderly recluse, he is visited by a woman in black, a figure who terrifies the locals. He hires an actor and a theater to help him reenact his experience, and exorcise the specter that haunts his life.

Laugh out loud, tears-in-your-eyes, dangerously close to wetting your pants funny.

Summer Chills at the Alley Theatre is all about entertainment. There are no axes to grind; no hidden depths to plumb, which is great, because it's too hot to do much besides sit in air-conditioned comfort and watch other people exert themselves.

Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd announces the cast and creative team for Agatha Christie's Spider's Web, Agatha Christie's only comedy thriller, beginning performances July 12 in the Hubbard Theatre. The popular ExxonMobil Summer Chills series returns to the Alley after a two-year break and offers a cool escape from the summer heat. The series is the perfect introduction to live theatre for first-timers.

Garson Kanin's BORN YESTERDAY premiered on Broadway in 1946, and seventy years later it still entertains and gently enlightens. Regardless of the time period, the play is far more relevant than you'd think. Directed by Jonathan Moscone, the play is about wealth, political corruption, education and opportunity. As we drag along into the current presidential election, there is plenty to say on these topics, and evidently Kanin felt the same way back in the forties.

Featuring Alley Company Members and directed by Jonathan Moscone, the play is the grand finale of the inaugural season in the newly renovated Hubbard Theatre.

Cape Cod Theatre Company's production of Little Women: The Broadway Musical is really something special. As I couldn't give you a visceral explanation of what it made me feel, this is a story who's truest depth and exquisiteness - its true emotion - is to be found once the journey is complete, and even then does a new beginning have the means of springing forth. Both the story and the way it was performed on stage, with music to bring out what is nothing less than extraordinary about four average girls and what their lives amount to, has such a spark to it as only CCTC can make happen - not only with this but with every show the group chooses to do.

Cape Cod Theatre Company will remount it's acclaimed 2008 production of Little Women with its original stars Caitlin Mills (Spelling Bee, Suessical) and Richard Jay Sullivan (La Cage, Class Act) as Jo March and Professor Bhaer.  Anthony Logan Cole (Les Miserables, Jekyll and Hyde, Song Of Solomon), who is currently standing by for Uncle Joey in Off-Broadway's Full House-The Musical will join the cast as Laurie.  The production is directed and choreographed by Broadway's Terry Gene Noegoet (Hello Dolly, My Fair Lady) with Music Direction by Cristina Dinella (Defendant Maurice Chevalier).

The feel-good family friendly show is fast paced, well-performed, and will have you laughing out loud. The show is full of wit, quips, and charm. The show will close in less than a week, and it's one that you do not want to miss this season. Don't forget to bring the kiddos. The comedy was adapted by Playwright Mark Brown, based on the 1873 novel by Jules Verne, and the production is directed by Mark Shanahan. The story is about Phileas Fogg's attempt to circumnavigate the globe within eighty days as a result of a wager with members of the London-based aristocratic group, the Reform Club.
