NEXT TO NORMAL Will Close Civic Theatre's 2013-14 Season

Civic Theatre of Allentown will produce the Pulitzer-winning musical "Next to Normal," which will run from May 3 to May 19. Civic's Artistic Director William Sanders directs this "brave, breathtaking" (The New York Times) rock musical written by Brian Yorkey and lyrics by Tom Kitt. Featuring an electrifying pop-rock score of more than 30 songs, "Next to Normal" is an intense, tender, human scale musical that aims straight for the heart.

Over a half century of works collide as The Flea Theater presents Ethikos Productions' Israel Horovitz One-Acts, featuring It's Called the Sugar Plum, Beirut Rocks, and the U.S. Premiere of his latest play, The Bump. Directed by former Flea Resident Director Mia Walker, the production previews July 5, with opening night slated for Friday, July 6. All tickets are $20.

Waterwell, one of the Village Voice's Best Arguments for Devised Theater (2010) and creators of Goodbar and #9, announced today the premiere of a new version of Much Ado About Nothing starring 11-13 year old actors from the Professional Performing Arts School (PPAS) in Manhattan.
