Florida Repertory Theatre is pleased to announce the opening of the thorny comedy, The Santaland Diaries as a Special Holiday Engagement running Dec. 10-31 in Florida Rep's NEW Studio Theatre. From the mind of satirist David Sedaris, this one-man tour-de-force stars Jason Parrish as David, a desperate, out of work writer in New York City who takes a job as an Elf in Macy's Santaland.

The showcase features the talents of Jack Benton, Trey Gerrald, Jessica Leach and Mary-Margaret Roberts. Their work with Florida Rep's Children's Theatre series was seen all season long in the Rep's three offerings for kids & families. On the Arcade Stage, Leach was seen last in Art of Murder, Gerrald and Roberts in Alone Together and Benton most recently appeared in Star Crossed Lovers, Florida Rep's collaboration with the Southwest Florida Symphony.

Alone Together tells the story of George and Helene Butler, and it unfolds hilariously as they send their third and final son off to college. Florida Repertory Theatre announced a brand-new partnership with Jason's Deli in Southwest Florida, and when Florida Rep's Lunchbox Theatre Series opens in the River District on January 10th, every parent and child will be eating a Jason's Deli boxed lunch.

Florida Rep's Education Department offers theatre classes in the fall, winter and spring that are open to community members of all ages. These classes allow Florida Rep professionals to share their wealth of experience with those who are eager to learn more about theatre. Areas of study include, but are not limited to: improvisation, theatre games, movement, acting for youth, acting for adults and stage makeup. Specialized classes are also offered for home school families as well as parent organizations and playgroups.
