Signature Theatre's Sondheim Award Gala Honoring Carol Burnett Postponed Until June

Due to the public health crisis of COVID-19, Signature Theatre announced today that the 2020 Stephen Sondheim Award Gala will be postponed from April 6, 2020 until June 29, 2020.

On April 6, 2020, Carol Burnett will receive the 2020 Stephen Sondheim Award, to be presented at a black-tie Gala Benefit at the Embassy of Italy. The award, established in 2009 in honor of America's most influential musical theater writer and composer, benefits Signature's artistic, education and community programs. Kristin Chenoweth and Santino Fontana will perform in Carol Burnett's honor along with Washington's own Tracy Lynn Olivera, Nova Y. Payton and Bobby Smith.

Award-winning actress, comedy icon, and best-selling author Carol Burnett, best known for her work on 'The Carol Burnett Show,' will return to The Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas with Carol Burnett: An Evening of Laughter and Reflection at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 5. Tickets starting at $30 go on sale at 10 a.m. on Feb. 7 at TheSmithCenter.com.
