Hypothetical Theatre Company will present the World Premiere of Jennifer Maisel's THERE OR HERE. Workshopped at PlayPenn in Philadelphia, the play was selected as a finalist for the 2007 Sundance Theatre Lab, the 2008 O'Neil Theatre Conference, and the 2008 STAGE International Script Competition for the best new play about science and technology. Directed by Amy Feinberg, previews begin September 6th at the 14th Street Theater. Opening night is slated for Tuesday, September 9th.

But when she decides to get pregnant-and have her embryos screened for bipolar disorder-is she taking the idea of 'being responsible' too far? A funny and surprising play about bioethics, siblings, and the limits of unconditional love. Dorothy Fortenberry recently graduated from the Yale School of Drama with an MFA in Playwriting. Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) announced New York premiere of Lisa Loomer's Distracted, directed by Mark Brokaw with Cynthia Nixon as 'Mama.' Distracted will begin performances in February 2009 at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). This will be a limited engagement.

Well regarded LA theatre producer and actress/dancer Denise Wisenmeyer, passed away over the weekend of Feb. 11th, at her home in Chatham, IL. She was 53 years old. From all appearances she died peacefully in her sleep. Police found her in bed when they entered her house after family members had tried in vain to reach her.

Manhattan Oracles' members Liz Amberly, Chris Cragin Day, James McGuire, Robin Rothstein and Brian Quirk are the featured playwrights in this breezy and eclectic evening of new and published short works.
