International Blues Legend James Montgomery and his band play Collinsville, Connecticut for the first time, making a one-of-kind appearance at Bridge Street Live on Saturday, March 22nd to celebrate the release of their highly acclaimed CD "From Detroit to the Delta". The CD which was on the nominating ballot for a Grammy and also a Blues Music Award features Johnny Winter, Joey Kramer and Brad Whitford from Aerosmith, Blues Legend James Cotton, The Uptown Horns (J.Geils, Rolling Stones) and DMC from the seminal rap group RunDMC. The album chronicles Montgomery's musical journey from the urban blues and soul of his native Detroit to the rural blues of the deep South as played in the Mississippi Delta. His first trip to the Delta was inspired by a movie that he made with Morgan Freeman and Willie Nelson, among others, called "Delta Rising" that led to the James Montgomery Band playing the Ground Zero Blues Club as the personal guests of Freeman's and significantly changed their lives as musicians.
