Kristin Scott Thomas plays the Queen in a new and updated version of Peter Morgan's The Audience.  Stephen Daldry's production is now in previews at the Apollo Theatre, with press night on 5 May 2015 and is booking to 25 July 2015. The Audience has designs by Bob Crowley, with lighting by Rick Fisher, sound by Paul Arditti and music by Paul Englishby. Kristin Scott Thomas had a special meeting with Queen Elizabeth II this week when she was made a Dame. The actress is set to portray the British royal beginning next month in the West End production of THE AUDIENCE.

The Harlem Renaissance was a cultural movement which spanned the period from about 1919 to 1929. It was the literary era when members of the Great African American Migration, Negroes who had moved into the U.S. Northeast and Midwest, asserted themselves in art, poetry, literature and theatre. Participants included James Wendell Johnson, Cleveland's Langston Hughes, and Countee Cullen.

Ben Righton takes on the role of our eponymous hero, Richard Hannay, having been seen most recently on our televisions as the one half of the witty Carling advert duo. Ellie Beaven follows a tremendously busy season at the RSC, where she received acclaim for her roles in Mad World My Masters, Candide and Titus Andronicous, by playing the three wonderful women in Hannay's life; Pamela, Annabella and Margaret.

Last weekend the 37th annual Shakespeare Competition, hosted by the Utah Shakespeare Festival and Southern Utah University, gave out dozens of awards and scholarships to drama, dance and music students. The competition is the largest scholastic Shakespeare competition in the country, and this was a record-breaking year with over 3,000 students from 118 schools. Students came from junior high and high schools in Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Wisconsin, and California.

The world premiere musical Thank You, Minerva (currently running at The Secret Rose Theatre in NoHo through August 18th ) will be offering two talk back performances 8/11 and 8/18 following the Sunday matinee's. Producer/ Writer Alan Stillson and cast will be attendance.
