American Repertory Theater announces complete casting and creative team for the world premiere musical Jagged Little Pill. The production begins previews on May 5, 2018 at the Loeb Drama Center, 64 Brattle Street, Cambridge, MA.

The Educational Theatre Association is pleased to announce that four schools will receive grants from the New Troupe Charter Grants program. The program is dedicated to bringing honor and recognition to theatre students in financially challenged communities through access to the International Thespian Society.

Based on the success of the inaugural year of the New Troupe Charter Grant program, the Educational Theatre Association is pleased to announce that Tams-Witmark Music Library will again underwrite the program in 2017-18 school year.

At Mira Monte High School, in Bakersfield, California, 12 students recently became members of an international honor society, thanks to a new grant program that is covering the initial costs of membership. The students were inducted into the International Thespian Society (ITS), the honor organization for high school and middle school theatre students. To earn induction each student had to accumulate 100 hours of excellent work in theatre.

The initial gift to fund the program has been made by Tams-Witmark Music Library.

Collecting premieres around the world since 1971, when it reached Broadway, the classical musical comedy by Stephen Schwartz and John-Michael Tebelak, based on the parables of the Gospel of St. Matthew, is back to Sao Paulo with a new look, directed by Dagoberto Feliz

Cirque du Soleil - PARAMOUR is the organization's first production created specifically for Broadway and it opened last night at the Lyric Theatre.  This marks the first opening of the 2016-17 theatre season! The Broadway Stage Management Symposium is back!  After last year's successful inaugural program, Broadway's best stage managers gather together again for this immersive program.  The Symposium goes far beyond the classroom, offering two full days of practical insights, instruction and career advice from the most experienced and highly-regarded Stage Management professionals on Broadway.  This unique and invaluable program is the largest gathering of Broadway's stage managers for the purpose of teaching the art, craft and skills needed to forge a successful career.

Actors' Equity Association ('Equity'), the U.S. labor union that represents more than 50,000 professional actors and stage managers, today announced the results of its 2015 national council election, with all seats effective immediately for three-year terms. Kate Shindle was named as new president of the union, replacing incumbent Nick Wyman.  Running uncontested in top-ranking officer positions were Paige Price (First Vice President), Rebecca Kim Jordan (Second Vice President), Ira Mont (Third Vice President) and Sandra Karas (Secretary/Treasurer).

Long-time friends, associates and family gathered last night (October 6) to celebrate the 70th birthday of one of the theatre community's most treasured members - award-winning sound designer Abe Jacob.

Carol Becker, Dean of Faculty of Columbia University School of the Arts, announced today the appointment of two acclaimed playwrights to the faculty of the Arts: David Henry Hwang, Associate Professor of Theatre in Playwriting and director of the Playwriting Concentration, and Lynn Nottage, Associate Professor of Theatre in Playwriting.
