It is not easy to interpret what the deeper hidden meaning behind 'Lazarus.' On one hand it feels very much like a theatrical extravaganza, a piece that unfolds in dream logic composed of a series of tableaux of life's many questions, like existentiality, sex, love and death. While other may, understandably, view it as overly pretentious and, minus Bowie's music, not easily accessible.

Music Mountain, America's Longest Running Chamber Music Festival, continues its 88th Season with two Music Mountain debuts! The Aeolus String Quartet, with guest artist Geoffrey Burleson, piano, performs Haydn, Mendelssohn, and Franck on Sunday, August 6 (3pm) and The Ben Kono Group plays sophisticated, contemporary jazz today, August 5 (6:30pm). Concerts are scheduled thru September 17.

The first act of Cloud Nine revolves around a British family in colonial Africa. Clive, the patriarch, rigidly maintains that his family perfectly embodies Victorian values but reality is more complex than he would like to admit. Act Two takes place in 1979 but features several of the same characters as Act One, thus highlighting the differences (and surprising similarities) of the Victorian and modern eras.

Even before breaking ground on their new home, IAC will welcome audiences into the existing Cybert Tire site for Rooms, a site-specific theatrical installation by the great Irish playwright Enda Walsh (May 3-28). IAC will present Rooms alongside St. Ann's Warehouse premiere of Walsh's new play, Arlington (May 3-28), making for a season of Walsh works in New York, supported by Culture Ireland.

Rehearsals begin today for the European premiere of David Bowie and Enda Walsh's LAZARUS, ahead of preview performances from Tuesday 25 October in a brand new 900-seater venue at Kings Cross Theatre built specifically for the production. Playing for 13 WEEKS ONLY until Sunday 22 January 2017, LAZARUS will have its official opening night on Tuesday 8 November 2016.

David Bowie and Enda Walsh's LAZARUS, which premiered at New York Theatre Workshop last year, is coming to King's Cross Theatre for a run 25 October-22 January 2017. It's directed by Ivo van Hove, and several cast members from the New York production are reprising their roles: Michael C Hall, Michael Esper and Sophia Anne Caruso. Full casting to be announced.
