The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts has announced the 2022/2023 Regional Arts MUSIC “At Eight” and MUSIC “At Two” Classical Concert Series, now in its 48th season, sponsored by Leonard and Sophie Davis.

Guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Jonah Tolchin today unveils “Black Hole,” the hypnotic opening track from his upcoming studio album, Lava Lamp. Co-produced with multi-instrumentalist/engineer Nic Coolidge, Lava Lamp was recorded with a three-piece that included Coolidge on bass and Tolchin’s friend and collaborator Kevin Clifford on drums.

. Today’s leading artists gather on The Django stage to celebrate NEA Jazz Master Dr. Lonnie Smith in special back-to-back tribute concerts 12/9. Two leading pianists make their Django debut: Benito Gonzalez 12/3 followed by Orrin Evans 12/8 leading his new Brazilian project “Terreno Comun”.

Following their run with Fish, the duo will join The Allman Family Revival as the only opening act for the full 19-day cross-country tour and celebration of the life, spirit and music of Gregg Allman, hosted by his son, Blues Music Award-winning Devon Allman, and anchored by his group, The Allman Betts Band. Check out the new tour dates now!

For over 50 years, Little Feat has fused California rock, funk, folk, jazz, country, rockabilly, and New Orleans swamp boogie into a unique musical gumbo all their own.  Little Feat comes to Mayo Performing Arts Center on Saturday, November 13 at 8 pm. Tickets are $59-$99.

The fifth annual Tipping Point all-star benefit concert, presented by Tulane University, will return on November 12, headlined by Chaka Khan. The evening will also include performances from the New Orleans house band.

The Allman Family Revival is a celebration of the life, spirit and music of Gregg Allman. The event is hosted by his son, Blues Music Award-winning Devon Allman, and anchored by his group, The Allman Betts Band.

They also flew in their drummer Rob Humphreys (Leonard Cohen, Jason Mraz) for the recording and worked with Chad Copelin (Sufjan Stevens, Christina Perri, Ben Rector) back in Oklahoma for keys and additional production as well as keyboardist Dan Walker (Heart). 

The show features original music from their two recent BMG albums, songs from their solo projects as well as classic songs by The Allman Brothers Band, the legendary group founded by Devon and Duane’s fathers, Gregg Allman & Dickey Betts.

It was originally recorded by the Blind Boys of Alabama, who performed regularly with The Fairfield Four, the legendary quartet of whom that the sister’s father - the Reverend Samuel McCrary co-founded, so it has special meaning for them.
