The Plano Symphony Orchestra has announced that Gregory Patterson has been named Executive Director. Patterson, who is no stranger to the PSO having served as Director of Development from 2018 until now, steps into the role following Robert A. Reed's resignation to accept a position with the Madison Symphony Orchestra.

Already in previews, Center Theatre Group’s Associate Artist Phylicia Rashad directs Pearl Cleage’s Blues for an Alabama Sky at the Mark Taper Forum, with opening night April 13th. Set in 1930’s Harlem, the cast includes Joe Holt, Nija Okoro, Dennis Pearson, Greg Alverez Reid and Kim Steele. I had the opportunity to question Greg on some behind-the-scenes of Blues, as well as his history with his storied director.

The Addams Family will be the first musical since the pandemic for the Detroit Mercy Theatre Company in Detroit. Original cast member Baize Buzan will return to To Kill a Mockingbird opposite Greg Kinnear.

Producer Barry Diller announced today that Academy Award® nominee and two-time Emmy Award® winner Greg Kinnear will make his Broadway debut in the iconic role of ‘Atticus Finch’ in the Broadway production of To Kill a Mockingbird, Aaron Sorkin’s new play, directed by Bartlett Sher, and based on Harper Lee’s classic novel, beginning January 5, 2022. Tony Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Jeff Daniels’ final performance will be on Sunday, January 2, 2022.

The Blue Hill Troupe, New York City's only philanthropic musical theater group, will kick off its 98th season with Urinetown: The Musical, a sidesplitting sendup of greed, love, revolution, and musicals-set in a time when water is worth its weight in gold. Tony Award winners Mark Hollmann (music and lyrics) and Greg Kotis (book and lyrics) will attend the show at 2pm on Saturday, November 13, and give a talk-back following the performance.
