David Cromer Returns to OUR TOWN as Stage Manager, 12/22-1/3

David Cromer, original director of this incarnation of Our Town as well as the Chicago one at the Hypocrites Theater, will return to stage manage for a few weeks at the end of the year.

Barrow Street Theatre's OUR TOWN Becomes Longest Running Production of the Show

A current production of OUR TOWN playing at the Barrow Street Theatre has recently become the longest running production in the show's history, surpassing the Broadway's record of 337 performances. After opening February 26th of this year, OUR TOWN received critical acclaim and has remained open to sell-out audiences.

The producers of the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway production of' Thornton Wilder's Our Town, have announced that Obie Award-winner Jason Butler Harner will assume the central role of 'Stage Manager' in David Cromer's staging of Wilder's timeless play. Beginning Tuesday, August 25th, Mr. Harner will succeed Mr. Cromer who departs the company to begin rehearsals for his Broadway directorial debut this fall with Neil Simon's Brighton Beach Memoirs and Broadway Bound.

KRAPP, 39 Extends Again At The Soho Playhouse, Runs Through 8/2

Krapp, 39 is extending once again, recent Drama Desk nominee, Michael Laurence's Krapp, 39, inspired by Samuel Beckett's Krapp's Last Tape, and directed by George Demas, will be extended again now through August 2, 2009 at the SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam Street). A highlight of the 2008 New York International Fringe Festival, Krapp, 39 was invited to be part of the Fringe Encores Series; it was then offered a legit Off-Broadway run at the SoHo Playhouse presented by Darren Lee Cole. Krapp, 39's Off-Broadway run began performances on January 13th, and officially opened on January 20, 2009 and has been extended several times since.

The Cliplight Theater and Theatre at Saint Clement's will present Levittown, written by Marc Palmieri and directed by George Demas, beginning Wednesday, July 8 at 8pm at Theatre at Saint Clement's, 423 West 46th Street. The opening night is set for Monday, July 13 at 8pm. Levittown had a developmental workshop in the summer of 2006 at Axis Theatre Company, directed by Mr. Demas.

Scott Parkinson, who assumed the role during his absence, gives his final performance June 18th. Mr. Cromer will continue in the role through August 16th and will make his Broadway directorial debut when rehearsals begin for the Broadway revival productions of Neil Simon's Brighton Beach Memoirs and Broadway Bound, shortly thereafter.

Producers Scott Morfee and Darren Lee Cole have announced the debut of the new Summer Solos Series, a celebration of the best in solo performance and shows by acclaimed playwrights and performers. The one-night-only performance series begins June 18, 2009, continuing through August 4, 2009 at Soho Playhouse (15 Vandam Street). A special benefit performance of Spalding Gray: Stories Left To Tell is scheduled for July 16, 2009 with proceeds going to the Spalding Gray Scholarship Fund. All performances begin at 8:00 p.m. Immediately following each performance there will be a brief reception with the artist in the Huron Club, located inside the Soho Playhouse.
