The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center will present its annual Monte Cristo Award to Pulitzer Prize and triple Tony Award-winning playwright Neil Simon, in recognition of his distinguished accomplishments and contributions to the American theater, exemplifying Eugene O'Neill's standard of excellence. The Award will be presented to Mr. Simon at a gala dinner in the Rainbow Room's Pegasus Suite on Monday, April 21st at 6:30 p.m.

On July 29th, legendary director Lloyd Richards will be honored at this year's Eugene O'Neill Theater Center National Playwrights Conference in Waterford, CT,

On May 8th, Edward Albee will receive the Harold Clurman Lifetime Achievement Award at the Harold Clurman Festival of the Arts, while he, Horton Foote, John Guare and Israel Horowitz will also discuss Clurman that evening

Elaine Stritch, Zoe Caldwell, Marian Seldes, Edward Albee and John Guare will be among those taking part in the first annual Harold Clurman Festival of the Arts from May 5th through 8th
