Earlier this week, NEWSIES, Disney's popular new musical about a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragged band of teenage "newsies", receiveed Actors' Equity Association's Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA) Sixth Annual ACCA Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus. The honor is the only industry accolade of its kind and honors the distinctive talents and contributions made by the original chorus members of a Broadway musical.

CAROLS FOR A CURE is the annual two-disc holiday CD compilation of original songs and holiday classics which benefits BC/EFA. These CDs boast the best voices from the worlds of Broadway, Off-Broadway and national tours. A full track list for this year's 14th edition has not yet been announced, but the cast of Broadway's NEWSIES was already hard a work yesterday recording their track for the album. The concert's lineup included Jen Noble (Ghost) and Delius Doherty (Book of Mormon), Allison Blackwell (Porgy & Bess), Garett Hawe (Newsies), Carly Hughes (Ghost), Stephen Mark Lukas (Book of Mormon), Corey Mach (Godspell), Matthew Marks (Book of Mormon), Julia Mattison (Godspell), Constantine Rousouli (Ghost), Jack Scott (Newsies), Brendon Stimson (Newsies), Julius Thomas III (Porgy & Bess), and Laurie Veldheer (Newsies). On Sunday, July 8th at 7PM at Joe's Pub, an all-star line-up of Broadway veterans and some of the city's best new voices presented "The TRL Generation: Broadway Sings The 90's," a one-night only concert event to benefit 'Broadway Impact.'
