The producers of Waitress and Blumenthal Performing Arts announced casting for the hit Broadway musical, which will return to Charlotte for a special five-week engagement April 19–May 22, 2022 in the Booth Playhouse, followed by a five-week engagement at Cleveland’s Playhouse Square May 26–June 26, 2022 in the Hanna Theatre.

Stephanie Torns will star in the lead role as Jenna Hunterson after understudying the role at the American Repertory Theater, prior to the Broadway run, as well as on Broadway. Stephanie also played supporting and ensemble roles throughout the original Broadway run and the show's restaging in 2021.

SOMETHING ROTTEN! has finally made its debut at Pioneer Theatre Company after two pandemic-induced postponements since the spring of 2020, and it brings pent-up energy, joy, laughter, and love of the theatre. 

 PIONEER THEATRE COMPANY presents SOMETHING ROTTEN! February 25 - March 12, 2022. Something Rotten! was originally scheduled for production in the spring of 2020, and was interrupted by the pandemic. It was then scheduled for the spring of 2021, and again was postponed.

Theatre Aspen's 2021 summer season has begun with the Tony Award and Drama Desk Award-winning musical Chicago (June 30 - July 22), directed and choreographed by Henry Award winner Mark Martino, returning for his twelfth season, with music direction by Henry Award winner Eric Alsford, who marks his eighth season with Theatre Aspen.

This season, loaded with talent from Broadway, national tours, and training programs from across the country, promises to provide one not-to-be-missed event after another. In the Broadway musical ELF, one of the characters says, 'Lower your expectations and you won't be disappointed.' Perhaps audiences attending the touring production of ELF playing at The Durham Performing Arts Center this week should heed that advice. Based on the 2003 movie, ELF tells the story of Buddy, a human raised by elves in The North Pole. When Buddy learns he is not actually an elf, he sets off on a journey to New York to find his biological father, a surly book publisher who is on Santa's naughty list. The movie featured a stellar cast including Bob Newhart, Ed Asner, James Caan, Zooey Deschanel, and Will Ferrell as Buddy. And according to 'Forbes,' 'Entertainment Weekly' and The British Film Institute, ELF is one of the best Christmas movies of all time. So you might expect that a stage adaptation of ELF would follow suit. Nope. Sadly, the staged version lacks the mojo that made its movie predecessor work.

With the turkey eaten and the black Friday deals purchased, Thanksgiving is officially in the rearview mirror and it's onward towards Christmas!
