Minnesota Dance Theatre (MDT) presents Crossing Currents, to close its 2010-2011 performance season at the Lab Theater April 7 -10. This Minnesota dance event offers a world premiere and a triptych of Art Inspired work. MDT celebrates its eclectic repertory, exclusive work, past commissions, and the new as we look forward to our 50th anniversary in 2012.

Artist Judy Chicago, art historian Frances Borzello, and the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art celebrate the release of Frida Kahlo: Face to Face, a new book by Ms. Chicago and Ms. Borzello, on Sunday, October 3, 2010, at 2 p.m., with a lecture and book signing at the Brooklyn Museum.

New Dramatists, Tony Honor recipient and one of the nation's premiere playwright development workshop, honored two-time Tony Award winner Julie Taymor with their 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award at its 61st Annual Spring Luncheon tribute, to be held Tuesday, May 18th at the New York Marriott Marquis. Ms. Taymor's award was presented to her by Academy Award winning actress Helen Mirren, who stars in Taymor's soon-to-be-released film adaptation of Shakespeare's The Tempest. Thomas Schumacher of Disney Theatricals served as the Luncheon Chair. Disney Theatricals and Robert Boyett were the benefactors for New Dramatists 61st Annual Spring Luncheon.

Fanny, running February 4 - 7, has music and lyrics by Harold Romeand book by S.N. Behrman and Joshua Logan, and is based on Marcel Pagnol's trilogy Marius, Fanny and Cesar. Fanny will be directed by Marc Bruni and choreographed by Lorin Latarro with music direction by Rob Berman.

Tony Award-winning actress Priscilla Lopez has joined the cast of Fanny, the 50th Encores! musical produced by New York City Center since 1994 and the second Encores! production of the season. (Ms. Lopez replaces the previously announced Rondi Reed, who is no longer available due to illness.) Fanny, running February 4 - 7, has music and lyrics by Harold Rome and book by S.N.
