New Amsterdam Singers Performs TANGO MASS: May 16, 19

For its final concerts of the 2018-2019 season, New Amsterdam Singers, led by Music Director Clara Longstreth, will present music with roots in Argentina and Spain, featuring Misa a Buenos Aires/Misatango for chorus, strings, bandoneon, and piano by Argentine-born Martín Palmeri; two works by Astor Piazzolla from his cycle, Four Seasons of Buenos Aires; and Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco's Romancero Gitano for chorus and guitar, on poetry by Federico Garcia Lorca. The concerts will take place Thursday, May 16, at 8:00 p.m., and Sunday, May 19, 2019, at 3:00 p.m., at The Church of the Holy Trinity, 316 East 88th Street (between First and Second Avenues).

The Rolling World Premiere Of RED BIKE Comes to The Wilbury Theatre Group

National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, announces the continuation of its 80th Rolling World Premiere (RWP) production. Red Bike by Caridad Svich opens at The Wilbury Theatre Group (Providence, R.I.) on February 21 and runs through March 3. Other Partner Theatres for this RWP were Simpatico Theatre (Philadelphia), PYGmalion Productions (Salt Lake City), and Know Theatre of Cincinnati. Red Bike was presented at NNPN's 2017 National Showcase of New Plays, hosted by Orlando Shakespeare Theatre.

Steve Bastoni (Wentworth) and Daniela Farinacci (Glitch) will star as Eddie and Beatrice Carbone in Arthur Miller's tragic masterpiece A View from the Bridge alongside Marco Chiappi (The Father), Simon Maiden (Glitch), Zoe Terakes (A Doll's House, Part 2), Damian Walshe-Howling (Janet King) and newcomer Andrew Coshan, when it opens on Thursday 14 March at Southbank Theatre.

National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that collaborate in innovative ways to develop, produce, and extend the life of new plays, announces the continuation of three Rolling World Premieres: Apples in Winter by Jennifer Fawcett at Indianapolis's Phoenix Theatre (January 11-27, 2019), Red Bike by Caridad Svich at Know Theatre of Cincinnati (January 11-February 2, 2019), and Gabriel Jason Dean's Heartland at New Repertory Theatre (Watertown: January12-February 9, 2019) and the VORTEX (Austin: January 17-February 9, 2019).

David R. Jimenez, President of the Board of Directors of Hartford Stage, announces that OBIE Award-winning director Melia Bensussen has been named the next Artistic Director of the Tony Award-winning theatre. She will assume the role in June.

BAAD! The Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance proudly presents Los Nutcrackers: A Christmas Carajo, written by Charles Rice-Gonzalez and directed by Fernando Vieira. This year marks the play's 15th anniversary and the first year that Vieira helms the work. The play interweaves two holiday classics, The Nutcracker and A Christmas Carol, and creates a queer, Latino play about a gay couple who go on a psychedelic trip through their lives one Christmas Eve. The playdates are November 30, December 1, 6, 7, 8, 14 and 15 at 8pm; Saturday, December 8 at 3pm at BAAD!, 2474 Westchester Avenue in the Westchester Square section of the Bronx. EL PUBLICO is a play written around 1930 by poet and playwright Federico Garcia Lorca which was lost, all of which has never been found, and which remained unperformed until 50 years following the author's death in 1936. Austin playwright Elizabeth Doss has adapted it to the stage in English as THE AUDIENCE and incorporated into it the circumstances of Lorca's political assassination at the hands of Nationalist insurgents in the early days of the Spanish Civil War.

Obie-Winner Caridad Svich Opens NNPN Rolling World Premiere RED BIKE At Simpatico Theatre

National New Play Network, an alliance of professional theaters that collaborate in innovative ways to develop, produce, and extend the life of new plays, announces the opening of the second leg of its 80th Rolling World Premiere (RWP). Red Bike by Caridad Svich opens at Simpatico Theatre in Philadelphia on June 8 and runs through June 24. The Roll, which started at PYGmalion Productions (April 20-May 5 in Salt Lake City), will continue to Know Theatre of Cincinnati (January 11-February 2, 2019), and The Wilbury Theatre Group (April 11-21, 2019 in Providence). Red Bike was presented at NNPN's 2017 National Showcase of New Plays, hosted by Orlando Shakespeare Theatre.

Teatro Paraguas Presents TRES CUENTOS

Teatro Paraguas will present a bill of three short bilingual cuentos (folktales) on June 24, 2018, in conjunction with Southside Summer Wheels, a family friendly community event hosted by Meow Wolf and the City of Santa Fe. This family-friendly performance features a cast of 13 actors ranging in age from 3 to 66 under the direction of JoJo Sena de Tarnoff.

THE HOUSE A New Immersive Theatrical Experience Comes to the Historic Montauk Club

Founding Creative Director Elizabeth Haag is pleased to announce that The House will be the first production of Guerrilla Theater Lab and Bash Entertainment. The event will consist of a 90-minute immersive theatrical performance, preceded by a 60-minute optional happy hour with musical entertainment.  The House is a one-night, Immersive Theatrical Event, to be held on May 19th, 2018, in Park Slope Brooklyn at the historic Montauk Club.
