JCC Manhattan proudly presents PREformances with Allison Charney featuring special guests from the Orchestra of St. Luke's on Monday, March 7th at 7:30pm. Music will include Beethoven's String Quartet no. 13, opus 130, Bolling's jazzy flute Suite and a collection of some of the greatest French operatic arias, performed by violinists Naoko Tanaka and Elizabeth Derham, violist Daniel Panner, cellist Alberto Parrini, flutist Elizabeth Mann, pianist Craig Ketter and soprano Allison Charney.

One of the greatest works in the classical canon, Beethoven's Symphony No. 5, will conclude Orchestra of St. Luke's 40th Anniversary season at Carnegie Hall. OSL Principal Conductor Pablo Heras-Casado, praised in the Financial Times for his 'keen command of stylistic definition as well as expressive logic' following OSL's October concert, returns for what promises to be an exceptionally thrilling performance of this repertoire staple. 'Pablo will bring new levels of charisma and energy,' anticipates OSL flutist Elizabeth Mann.

Throughout its 40th anniversary season, St. Luke's Chamber Ensemble performs world premieres of works commissioned from three composers, who have been given one important parameter-each new piece must, in some way, be in dialogue with the other works performed on that program. On the next Chamber Music Series program in February, titled Short Stories, the commissioned composer is Gabriela Lena Frank; her piece, Rapsodia Andina No. 2, will be heard along with short musical gems by Britten, Ginastera, and Mozart. Short Stories will be performed three times, at Brooklyn Museum and The Morgan Library & Museum.

This spring, Orchestra of St. Luke's collaborates with the New York Philharmonic for the inaugural NY PHIL BIENNIAL, an 11-day exploration of today's music showcasing an array of curatorial voices through concerts presented with cultural partners throughout New York City. Based on biennials in the world of visual art, the NY PHIL BIENNIAL offers a snapshot of the music of our time, showcasing diverse musical ideas and broad philosophical themes. OSL co-presents two concerts, this weekend, May 31 and June 1 at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Rose Theater, as part of this innovative festival. OSL Principal Conductor Pablo Heras-Casado will conduct these concerts and, at the invitation of New York Philharmonic Music Director Alan Gilbert, has served as a curatorial collaborator for the festival.

Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) has just announced the release of the seventh album on its record label St. Luke's Collection: a live recording of Schoenberg and Riehn's masterful chamber arrangement of Gustav Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde. The work was performed to great acclaim in September 2011 by St. Luke's Chamber Ensemble with conductor George Manahan, mezzo-soprano Jennifer Johnson Cano and tenor Paul Groves at Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC).
