from Cirque du Soleil, famed Magnolia Bakery has renamed its beloved banana pudding to ‘Banana Shpeel Pudding!' throughout the run of the show. Producer, Marty Schmelky (Danny Rutigliano), and his longtime wacky assistant Margaret (Shereen Hickman), officially unveiled Magnolia's brand new ‘Banana Shpeel pudding' with New York's Upper West Side friends and customers yesterday, May 12.

Only eight other musicals have reached this milestone, including Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Broadway's landmark musical THE LION KING has welcomed new cast members ALPHONSO ROMERO JONES II and Marquis Kofi Rodriguez ('Young Simba,) and SHEREEN PIMENTEL and SHANNON SKYE TAVAREZ ('Young Nala) to the company. Rodriguez and Pimentel made their Broadway debuts last night, September 29. Tavarez will make her Broadway debut tonight, September 30 and Jones will make his Broadway debut on tomorrow, October 1. Produced by Thomas Schumacher of Disney Theatrical Productions, THE LION KING officially opened on November 13, 1997 at the New Amsterdam Theatre. The production moved in its entirety, including all 52-cast members and the entire 24-member orchestra, from the New Amsterdam Theatre on June 4, 2006, and began performances nine days later at its current home, the Minskoff Theatre on June 13, 2006. The move followed the completion of custom renovations to accommodate the Tony Award-winning production.

TA'REA CAMPBELL (Nala), a native of Philadelphia, joins the Broadway company after touring for three years as Nala in both the Cheetah and Gazelle tours of Lion King. Also on Broadway: Little Shop of Horrors; Standby for the title role in Aida.

A visitor walking into the Avatar recording studio in New York City last May was greeted with the most stirring rendition of Stephen Sondheim's 'Too Many Mornings'. The voices of Marin Mazzie and her husband, Jason Danieley, were so exceptionally suited to the music that a new dimension was added to the material.
