The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association has announced three conductors who will participate in the 2013/14 Dudamel Fellowship Program - Daniel Cohen, BenGernon, and Antonio Mendez. Music Director Gustavo Dudamel, together with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, created the Dudamel Fellowship Program in 2009 to provide a unique opportunity for promising young conductors from around the world to develop their craft and enrich their musical experience through personal mentorship and participation in the LA Phil's orchestral, education and community programs.

Canadian Opera Co. Wraps 2012-13 Season with 90% Attendance

The Canadian Opera Company has closed another successful opera season by recording an average attendance of 90% for 2012/2013. A total of 114,133 patrons attended the 61 performances of the company's seven mainstage productions this season in the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts: Verdi's Il Trovatore, Johann Strauss II's Die Fledermaus, Wagner's Tristan und Isolde, Mozart's La clemenza di Tito, Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor, Richard Strauss's Salome and Poulenc's Dialogues des Carmélites.

The young artists of the Canadian Opera Company's Ensemble Studio take to the mainstage for their own performance of Mozart's final opera, La clemenza di Tito, on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts. This special performance of a production described as "modern music theater you mustn't miss" (Chicago Tribune) is a rare showcase of these young singers' talent and an important step in their careers as they develop into the next generation of Canadian opera stars. All tickets to the February 6 performance are affordably priced at only $25 or $55. La clemenza di Tito is sung in Italian with English SURTITLES.

The Canadian Opera Company presents a production described as "modern music theatre you mustn't miss" (Chicago Tribune) this winter season when it performs Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's last opera, La clemenza di Tito, directed by Christopher Alden. Conducting some of opera's most sublime music is the dynamic young maestro Daniel Cohen in his company debut, leading an acclaimed ensemble cast that features internationally renowned Canadian tenor Michael Schade and Metropolitan Opera regular American mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard. La clemenza di Tito is sung in Italian with English SURTITLES™ and was last performed by the COC in 1991. It runs for nine performances at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts on February 3, 6*, 7, 9, 11, 13, 16, 19 and 22, 2013.

Stage and screen actress Sandy Duncan will 'coax the blues right out of the horn,' as she makes her Barrington Stage debut as the glamorous Mame Dennis in a semi-staged concert version of Jerry Herman's legendary musical 'Mame,' directed by Julianne Boyd. BSC's first fall production in its new home in Pittsfield, at 30 Union Street, will run for two weeks from October 4 through 15.
