The lyrics to the jazz standard "All of Me" beautifully convey the sentiment of two people falling in love.  But when two actors share a stage kiss it is natural for the oxytocin created in our pituitary glands to manifest and make those feelings intensify, but is it love? Now, take two actors, who are former lovers, and each involved in other relationships share a kiss and those hormonal levels are magnified and can bring out the worst or the best in people.

Jessica Dickey's world-premiere comedic drama THE GUARD, currently playing at Ford's Theatre, paints masterful depictions of not only Rembrandt and Homer, but also those in modern times who cherish their works and wish to find beauty and memory themselves.

Ford's Theatre Society welcomes Tim Getman (Round House's Rapture, Blister, Burn; Fool for Love), Mitchell Hebert (Ford's The Laramie Project), Josh Sticklin (Keegan Theatre's Midsummer Night's Riot), Kathryn Tkel (Kennedy Center's Mockingbird) and Craig Wallace (Ford's The Laramie Project, Our Town, Necessary Sacrifices, others) will comprise the cast of THE GUARD, a world-premiere comedic drama by playwright Jessica Dickey. Far before the first lines are spoken director Aaron Posner, known for his unique reinventions of classics, and his creative team have created a new home for Stoppard's absurd spin on Shakespeare, and while doing so have breathed life into a classic nearing its 50th anniversary.

Folger Theatre concludes its highly successful 2014/15 season with Tom Stoppard's fabulously inventive, existentialist tragicomedy Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. Directed by four-time Helen Hayes Award-winner Aaron Posner (Stoppard's Arcadia, The Taming of the Shrew at Folger), this modern classic will play at Folger Theatre now through June 21, 2015.
