BMI (Broadcast Music Inc), Beasley Media Group and Xperi's HD Radio Technology present the seventh installment of BMI's signature series, “How I Wrote That Song,” today featuring accomplished producer/songwriter, Oak Felder. In this installment, Felder, who has written and produced with superstars such as Alessia Cara, Alicia Keys, Kehlani, Lizzo, Rihanna, Usher, Britney Spears and so many more, dives into his impressive career and the creative process behind some of his biggest hits.

The world-famous Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will march down the streets of New York City for its 95th annual holiday celebration later this month. Broadway’s best musicals will perform including SIX, Moulin Rouge! and one of Broadway’s longest running hits, Wicked; along with a sneak preview of NBC’s Annie Live! In addition, the show-stopping Radio City Rockettes will bring their signature magic to Herald Square.

HANDS UP features individual monologues written by seven Black playwrights and expresses them through the creative compositions made by an ensemble cast. HANDS UP is co-directed by Spelman Professor Keith Arthur Bolden and Spelman Alumna and former Alliance Spelman Fellow Alexis Woodard. Woodard and Bolden worked on productions of HANDS UP previously as student and professor at Spelman College and beyond.

SHUTTER SISTERS is a very enjoyable and empathetic look at how connections between mothers, daughters, friends, and even strangers impact the story of your life. Playing at The Old Globe in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre through November 7th.

The Old Globe will present the world premiere play Shutter Sisters by Mansa Ra. Directed by  Donya K. Washington, the play runs October 7, 2021 – November 7, 2021 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.

In response to national conversations on racial justice and equality, Atlanta's Alliance Theatre will produce THE NEW PLAY FEST'S HANDS UP: SEVEN PLAYWRIGHTS, SEVEN TESTIMENTS as part of its Hertz Stage series, October 8 – 31, 2021. 

The Old Globe announced the full cast and creative team for Shutter Sisters written by Mansa Ra (Too Heavy for Your Pocket) and directed by Donya K. Washington (Beautiful Blackbird at Alliance Theatre and Festival Producer at Oregon Shakespeare Festival).

The Kitchen Theatre Company will open its 2021-2022 season with 2010 Glaad Media Award Winner, A Boy And His Soul, an electric, feel-good comedy that, alongside the music of Donna Summers, Aretha Franklin, the Isley Brothers, and Earth Wind & Fire, sheds light on playwright Colman Domingo's life and journey to adulthood.

The official video for Baylee Littrell's current single, 'Some Guys' is out now.  The video was produced by BriLeigh Productions and directed by Mason Hughes.  It was shot during Baylee's first live performance of 2021 at Madlife in Woodstock, GA.

The 17th competition winner, DATA is a fast-paced thriller that looks behind the closed doors of Silicon Valley. DATA is written by Matthew Libby and the virtual production is directed by Susan V. Booth.

The Alliance/Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Competition continues to spotlight the best emerging playwrights with a virtual production of this year's winning play DATA and virtual readings of the four finalist plays.  The 17th competition winner, DATA is a fast-paced thriller that looks behind the closed doors of Silicon Valley. DATA is written by Matthew Libby and the virtual production is directed by Susan V. Booth.
