The Notebook officially opened at the Schoenfeld Theatre last week. Following the show's opening, the cast celebrated the big night at an after party at Tavern on the Green. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the celebration, and you can check out photos here!

Just over three weeks ago, on January 30, BroadwayWorld sadly reported the passing of three-time Tony Award winner Hinton Battle. Now, Broadway stars are speaking up on social media about the lack of announcement from the Broadway League about theatre lights dimming in his honor. 

A major winter storm is on the way! Snow accumulation could reach 6 to 12 inches north of the city, into northwestern New Jersey and the Hudson Valley. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for a swath of the region. New York City is under a winter weather watch, along with Long Island. 

The Broadway community will honor the memory of Chita Rivera by dimming the lights of Broadway theatres.

The Broadway League has announcedd that Broadway Bridges resumes today with 20 shows participating in this spring 2024 cycle. Broadway Bridges is The Broadway League’s initiative that seeks to offer every New York City public high school student the opportunity to attend a Broadway show prior to graduation.

Last week, the Broadway League announced that Charlotte St. Martin would be “retiring” after 18 years. An email went out to League members shortly before the release. And I’m not sure I’ve ever received quite so many theater-related communications before noon.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee met to confirm the eligibility status of ten Broadway productions for the 2023-2024 season.

The 15th annual Jimmy Awards will take place on Monday, June 24, 2024 at 7:30pm at Broadway’s Minskoff Theatre, 200 West 45th Street in Manhattan.

 Before attending Wednesday afternoon’s matinee performances,  nearly 155 New York City public high school students and chaperones gathered in Times  Square to commemorate the milestone achieved of Broadway Bridges® welcoming 100,000  students to Broadway since its inception in 2017.
