Now, in the next phase of this concert series, writers from both sides of the pond will unite to share their work-featuring brilliant talent from the New York theatre community.

F. Michael Haynie (Wicked, Dogfight, NBC's Peter Pan LIVE!) has joined NEXT Concert Series: Bridge the Gap at Feinstein's/54 Below. 

The NEXT concert series has run both in the US and in the UK as a platform for new musical theatre writers to share their work.

Angelo McDonough, Molly Model, and Ariana Sepulveda join NEXT in Concert: Bridge the Gap at Feinstein's/54 Below.

Basquiat, a new musical about the life and times of 80's art-star, Jean Michele Basquiat just premiered a special concert version of the show at Joe's Publast night, December 16th. The performers included Eric LaJuan Summers (Motown: The Musical) as well as Lena Hall (Kinky Boots) and Felicia Finley(Mama Mia, The Wedding Singer). Other performers include Ken Robinson (Memphis), Julius Thomas III (Motown: The Musical) Chad Carstarphen (In the Heights), Benjamin Mapp, Jimmy Lambert, Roger DeWitt, Eddie Varley andNikki Kimbrough (A Night with Janis Joplin). Set in a gang-run, poor neighborhood in Kansas City, Kan. BROKE-OLOGY is about family, fatherhood, regret and the choices people make surrounding the three.

According to Ennis King, the older brother in Nathan Louis Jackson's Broke-ology that opens for previews at the Kitchen Theatre on April 4th and runs through April 22nd, he has developed a new scientific theory. As Ennis explains to his younger brother Malcolm, "Broke-ology…is a complex new science that examines two things. One, being broke. Two, staying alive despite your brokenness." Ennis and Malcolm are experts in broke-ology, and their situation is complicated by their aging father William's quickening decline. Poverty, the American dream and the ties that bind a family together are brought into focus in this new play.
