How do you discuss the undiscussable? Philadelphia Theatre Company presents the Philadelphia premiere of David Mamet's provocative play Race, running January 21 through February 13, 2011 at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre (Broad and Lombard Streets).

The new comedy acts as a precursor to the events of A Raisin in the Sun to tell an unforgettable new story about race and real estate in America. Act I opens in 1959, as a white couple sells their home to an African American family (the same home and same African American family as the subject matter for Loraine Hansberry's groundbreaking drama), causing uproar in their middle-class Chicago neighborhood. Act II transports us to the same house in 2009, when the stakes are different, but the debate is strikingly familiar. Amid lightning-quick repartee, the characters scramble for control of the situation, revealing how possibly the language has changed, but the conversation has remained eerily the same.

Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the complete cast and creative team for Jane Austen's Emma - A Musical Romantic Comedy. The musical, with book, music and lyrics by Tony Award nominee Paul Gordon and direction by Tony Award nominee Jeff Calhoun, will run in the Old Globe Theatre Jan. 15 - Feb. 27. Preview performances run Jan. 15 - Jan. 22. The show that garnered 8 Carbonell Award Nominations and won two awards, for Holly Shunkey, (Best Leading Actress in a Musical) and AC Ciulla, (Best Choreography) returns to the theater that provided its World Premiere production, Caldwell Theatre Company.

Caldwell Theatre Company has put the finishing touches on its 2010-2011 Season. As previously announced, the season opens with bringing back the multiple Carbonnell winning Vices: A Love Story starring Holly Shunkey and choreographed by AC Ciulla, both Carbonnell winners. Vices...is the groundbreaking musical told primarily through dance and features pastiche style music incorporating modern rock, disco, operetta, and R&B.

The Silver Palm Awards committee, founded three years ago to honor theatrical excellence in South Florida, has announced this years's 16 recipients, which include for the first time a husband and wife acting duo: Avi Hoffman and Laura Turnbull.

'Come to the Cabaret, old chum, come hear the music play!' That's the invitation issued today by theatrical producer Vicki Halmos, founder of the Palm Beach Principal Players, who's new production company - the hot and hip Entr'Acte Theatrix - will be presenting the Tony Award-winning, Kander & Ebb musical CABARET, October 14-24 at the Count de Hoernle Theatre (Caldwell Theatre) in Boca Raton.

Caldwell Theatre Company announced the completed casting for their latest installment of their overwhelmingly successful Broadway Concert Series, Follies. Joining the previously announced stars, Laura Hodos, Wayne LeGette, Melissa Minyard, and Stephen G. Anthony are: Meghan Colleen Moroney (Broadway: Mamma Mia), Jeanne Bennett ( National Tours: Les Miserable, The Mystery of Edwin Drood) and well known South Florida star Lourelene Snedeker.

It's the early 1970s and the Weismann Theatre in New York is about to be demolished. Before the wrecking ball transforms the theatre into a parking lot, a reunion is taking place for members of the Weismann Follies. As the evening goes on, the former performers relive many of their past experiences, both good and bad. Sally, a former Follie, meets the man that she's always loved, Ben, and the two middle-aged people end up kissing. By the end of the night though, they each go back to their perspective spouses and the various Follies continue on with their lives.

Caldwell Theatre Company has completed their casting for Bob Clyman's Secret Order and announced that joining South Florida's preeminent actor Gordon McConnell are Nick Duckhart-last seen at Caldwell in The Whipping Man, Howard Elfman-South Florida's favorite character man and Katie Cunningham-currently enrolled in the FSU- MFA program at Asolo Theatre.

Caldwell Theatre Company concludes their summer season with the World Premiere of Joel Gross', The Comfort of Darkness. Based on the real life 18th century figures, Dr. Anton Mesmer (the pioneer of hypnosis) and Maria-Theresa von Paradis (a famous blind pianist of her time and contemporary of Mozart) The play interweaves a timeless romance with a sophisticated examination of the choices we make.

Michael McKeever is South Florida's most produced and prolific playwright. His plays have premiered in many of South Florida's top theatres including Florida Stage, New Theatre, Actors Playhouse, Caldwell Theatre Company, Palm Beach DramaWorks & City Theatre. McKeever's plays are produced throughout the United States and Europe. His play 'South Beach Babylon' will open the inaugural season for Zoetic Stage.

Carbonell nominee (Speaking Elephant) Angie Radosh has performed at Florida Stage, Caldwell Theatre Company, Palm Beach Dramaworks, Gable Stage, Actor's Playhouse, New Theatre, and Key West Theatre Festival, and was part of the award winning City Theatre Summer Shorts ensemble. Her work has earned a Curtain Up award and citations from the New Times. She received the Silver Palm Award for her work in Speaking Elephant and The Glass Menagerie at New Theatre. Television and film work include Disney's 'Johnny and the Sprites' and the award winning film 'Lost Everything.'
