So, as we say in show business, 'That's a Wrap!' The dizzying creative and emotional 'hangover' of what transpired in Broken Arrow and Tulsa, Oklahoma, last week, is still lingering... whether it's the students or the faculty. We have all been in constant communication, continuing to be in awe of what actually happened to ALL of us, between June 11 to 17. The work week was intense, long, and difficult, but the rewards and what we all got back, did more than make up for it.

As you know, Kristin Chenoweth's Broadway Bootcamp wrapped up its third year on Friday night, with a live show at The Kristin Chenoweth Theatre in the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center, in her home state of Oklahoma. The show also gave birth to the first-ever KRISTI Awards (named for Kristi Dawn Chenoweth) … the star's name commonly used, while growing up.

I just returned from Kristin Chenoweth's Broadway Bootcamp, my first. How did this happen? Well, it all happened in Kristin's Dressing Room, at the Lunt-Fontanne, when we were doing MY LOVE LETTER TO BROADWAY. Her 'bootcamp' for young, aspiring performers had already had two seasons and she was looking to really 'change it up.' The rest is history, as they say, and 'I' can say, in all honesty, that it was one of the greatest experiences I have ever had and those 43 kids and a handful of young interns, are in our hearts... forever.

Last night all eyes were on New York City and the 71st TONY Awards, but in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at the Kristin Chenoweth Theater at Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center the hometown girl hosted a TONY viewing party to launch her Broadway Bootcamp this week. In attendance were 45 students who will participate in a series of classes and performance led by industry professionals who flew in and are arriving for the week's activities. They include, fresh from her Isabelle Stevenson Award win, Broadway's Baayork Lee, Tony winner, Faith Prince, Tony nominees, John Tartaglia and Lara Teeter, director, Richard Jay-Alexander, music directors, Michael Orland and Mary-Mitchell Campbell, Broadway photographer, Bruce Glikas, and even Craig Burns from Telsey Casting who will be participating via satellite. 

In its third year, Kristin Chenoweth's Broadway Bootcamp is bringing energetic and exciting changes, starting with the namesake Emmy and Tony winner bringing a lot of her friends from across the country to help mold 45 young Broadway hopefuls during her camp June 12-16.

Three-time Tony Award-winner Glenn Close stars in the Broadway return of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Tony Award-winning Best Musical, Sunset Boulevard. Directed by Lonny Price, this production of Sunset Boulevard features a 40-piece orchestra on the stage of The Palace Theatre (1564 7th Avenue), the biggest on Broadway in more than 80 years. The New York Post's legendary gossip columnist, Cindy Adams, just made her Broadway debut during the curtain call of Andrew Lloyd Webber's CATS as Grizabella. She might not be Mamie's understudy, but she was there to promote her eighth annual Blessing of the Animals on December 11, 2016 at Christ Church (524 Park Avenue), which includes a procession of animals to the altar for blessing.

This December 8 - 14th, Broadway's hottest couple, Orfeh and Andy Karl will make their Feinstein's/54 Below debut in their all-new show 'Legally Bound.'

Andrew Lloyd Webber's smash hit musical School of Rock - The Musical is entering its second smashing year on Broadway with a new class of cast members. Comedic actor Eric Petersen just assumed the role of wannabe rock star, Dewey Finn, last night, November 7, 2016. The Kid Band, who perform Andrew Lloyd Webber's score live at every performance, now includes new cast members Rachel Katzke as Katie the bass player and Walden Sullivan as Lawrence the keyboardist, along with returning cast members, Brandon Niederauer as Zack the guitarist and Raghav Mehrotra as Freddy on drums. Additionally, Olivia Chun assumes the role of super serious band manager Summer, Steven Booth assumes the role of Ned, Annabelle Wachtel plays Marcy, Terrance Bell, Jr. plays Mason, Chloe Bryanwill plays Madison, and Ellie Kim joins the cast as a swing.

The Off Broadway Alliance, the organization of Off Broadway producers, theaters, general managers, press agents and marketing professionals, presented the 6th annual Off Broadway Alliance Awards on June 21st at Sardi's, honoring outstanding achievement in Off Broadway theatre for the 2015 - 2016 season. Honorees were on hand to receive their awards and Anne Jackson & Eli Wallach, Anne Meara, and Elizabeth Swados were posthumously inducted into the Off Broadway Hall of Fame. Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein will headline the cast of NBC's HAIRSPRAY LIVE, the network's next live Broadway musical holiday event to be broadcast live on December 7th.

Big news today in the world of music! Universal Music Group (UMG) has named renowned producers David Blackman and Scott Landis to lead its development and production of film, television and theatrical projects. Their appointments are effective immediately, and both report jointly to UMG Executive Vice President Michele Anthony and Universal Music Publishing Group Chairman and CEO Jody Gerson, reflecting the unique and important role that publishing and recorded music play in creating film, television and theatrical properties.

The pre-Broadway World Premiere of Gotta Dance officially opened in Chicago on December 28, and will play thru January 17, 2016, at Broadway In Chicago's Bank of America Theatre (18 W Monroe St, Chicago), before opening on Broadway in the Fall of 2016. On Your Feet!, the new Broadway musical based on the life story of seven-time GRAMMY winning international superstar Gloria Estefan and her husband, nineteen-time GRAMMY winning producer-musician-entrepreneur Emilio Estefan. On Your Feet! is currently in previews for an opening on Broadway on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at the Marquis Theatre. Producers Tom Kirdahy, Tom Smedes, Hugh Hayes and Judith Ann Abrams announced today that John Kander and Fred Ebb's final Broadway musical, The Visit, featuring a book by four-time Tony Award winning playwright Terrence McNally, will open on Broadway this Spring, starring two-time Tony Award winning Broadway legend Chita Rivera and Tony Award winner Roger Rees. Helmed by Tony Award winning director John Doyle and choreographed by Tony Award nominee Graciela Daniele, The Visit will begin performances at the Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th Street) on Thursday, March 26 with an Opening Night set for Thursday, April 23.

As recently reported, original Tony Award-nominated star Constantine Maroulis has extended his return engagement as 'Drew' in Broadway's ROCK OF AGES, with Lauren Zakrin, YouTube sensation Chester See, and Frankie Grande joining the production in recent weeks.
