LIFE AFTER, a new musical by composer and lyricist Britta Johnson is a beautiful and complex musical about the emotional growing pains that come with growing up. Playing at The Old Globe this is a show that should not be missed.

The Old Globe presents the U.S. premiere of Life After, a rapturously beautiful and stirring new musical withbook, music, and lyrics by Britta Johnson, directed by the Globe's own Barry Edelstein, opening Friday, March 29 at 8:00 p.m. Withchoreography by Ann Yee and music supervision, arrangements, and orchestrations by Lynne Shankel, Life After will run March 22 - April 28, 2019 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run March 22-28. Life After is produced by special arrangement with Yonge Street Theatricals, Linda Barnett, and Natalie Bartello. Single tickets start at $32.00 and are now on sale. The Old Globe in association with Yonge Street Theatricals will present a by-invitation-only industry reading of the new musical Life After on Thursday, December 6 at 2:00 p.m. and Friday, December 7 at Noon at Ripley Grier Studios in New York City. The reading will help the creative team prepare for the musical's upcoming American premiere this winter at The Old Globe in San Diego, where it will run from March 22 to April 28, 2019.

One of the most important theatre festivals in the country, the TORONTO FRINGE FESTIVAL celebrates 30 years this summer. In honour of this major landmark for Canadian theatre, the Festival will feature a stellar line up of shows by many of Canada's hottest theatre artists, a throwback to some of the world's most important theatre productions with the #STARTEDATTHEFRINGE campaign, and a new creative pop-up patio called POSTSCRIPT in the Scadding Court hockey rink, where all events are free and open to the public. The TORONTO FRINGE takes place July 4 - July 15, 2018 with 159 shows at 43 venues presented across the city.

NAMT Awards $65,000 In Grants For New Musical Development & Organizational Innovation

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) announces 18 awards granted from their National Fund for New Musicals, and five awards granted from their Innovation & Exploration Grant program. The National Fund for New Musicals (NFNM) is a major funding program to support NAMT member not-for-profit theatres in their collaborations with writers to create, develop and produce new musicals. Now in its tenth year, this year the Fund is providing grants totaling $58,000 to organizations across the country.
