Walnut Street Theatre's 2015-2016 Independence Studio on 3 season concludes with a musical celebration of the American country and pop legend, Patsy Cline, with ALWAYS...PATSY CLINE. Directed by Debi Marcucci, the production begins with previews on April 5th, opens on April 7th and continues through July 3rd in the Walnut's Independence Studio on 3.

 Every season must reflect the mission of the company and for the past 13 years, Sean Murray has crafted uniquely Cygnet seasons that reflect the commitment to 'startle the soul, embrace diversity and ignite debate.' This year is no exception. The seven productions in Season 14 range from the traditional to the avant-garde and include two musical theatre classics, a two-show repertory by a Pulitzer prize-winning playwright, the return of a holiday favorite and two contemporary works sure to shock and amaze.

Thanks to a new program launched by Cygnet Theatre, the holidays will be a bit brighter for area military and their families. SEATS FOR SOLDIERS provides free tickets to the classic holiday musical, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Adapted by Sean Murray with original score by Billy Thompson, this production is a re-imagined take on the original holiday classic featuring lively music, unique puppets and live sound effects.

Cygnet Theatre will continue its nine-year tradition of presenting a holiday show suitable for all ages. This season welcomes the return of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Adapted by Sean Murray with original score by Billy Thompson, this production is a re-imagined take on the original holiday classic featuring lively music, unique puppets and live sound effects. The fully staged production runs November 27 - December 27 at Cygnet Theatre in Old Town. Opening Night for Media is Saturday, December 5th at 8:00pm.

'Let's do the time warp AGAIN!' Back by popular demand and sold out performances last season, the Winthrop Playmakers present a brand new production of Richard O'Brien's 'The Rocky Horror Show' October 8 - 10 and 15 - 17. See the cult classic alive on stage and experience this tale of madness, sex, and rock 'n' roll like never you have before. Directed by Nicholas Raponi and with musical direction by Chris Roppola, this all new production of 'The Rocky Horror Show' features a cast of seventeen Boston-area Transylvanians who invite you into Dr. Frank-n-Furter's laboratory to hear favorite songs like 'Time Warp' 'Damnit Janet' 'Sweet Transvestite' and more. 

With much excitement and clamor, Broadway's N'Kenge returns to Alphine Theatre Project in Montana to star in 'Chicago' as Matron 'Mama' Morton, the Witch in 'Big Fish,' and various roles in 'Ring of Fire.' All three productions will be running in rotating repertory from July 9 - August 1.

In the opening salvo of a planned series of action packed books, Sean has come at the paranormal world of shapeshifters from a different angle to most writers. THE LAST SHIP - the new musical with music and lyrics by 16-time Grammy Award-winner Sting and book by Tony Award winner John Logan and Pulitzer Prize-winner Brian Yorkey opens tonight, October 26. Cygnet Theatre has announced a Season 12 lineup that reveals common threads of identity, redemption and 'what really makes a family.' Cygnet Artistic Director Sean Murray and Executive Director Bill Schmidt have assembled a package of plays and musicals for the 2014-2015 season that will take theater-goers on a typical Cygnet-style journey from campy musicals and great American plays to works by up-and-coming young playwrights and audience favorites.
