Aurora Theatre Company kicks off its 29th season with the original World Premiere Audio Drama THE FLATS, jointly written by playwrights Lauren Gunderson, Cleavon Smith, and Jonathan Spector (Eureka Day). Artistic Director Josh Costello (Exit Strategy, The Importance of Being Earnest, Eureka Day, Detroit) directs this new story that speaks directly to our present moment in all its complexity.

Long Beach Opera presents a new production of Purcell's King Arthur --- a collaboration with Chicano provocateurs CULTURE CLASH and the authentic sounds of LA 's premiere Baroque orchestra MUSICA ANGELICA -- in January 2020 for only three performances at Long Beach's Beverly O'Neill Theatre.  Performances are Sunday January 12, Saturday January 18 and Sunday, January 19.   

The UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television's (UCLA TFT) Department of Theater announced today its upcoming theater season, which includes the production of Bertolt Brecht's The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, the opera Juana and the seminal rock musical Hair

Audiences will be given the chance to see how theatre is made at Marlowe ROAR next month (October).

Theatre Prometheus has taken over the Capital Hill Arts Workshop space for a couple weeks, and has done Adams proud. Director Chelsea Radigan has assembled a fine cast who gives Or, its best shot. Led by the assured, charismatic Dina Soltan as Behn, you get a taste of adventure, intrigue, sex (well, yeah, it's the 60's) and plots - of the 'bang bang, you're dead' variety, not just the drama kind.

The Hangar Theatre Company opens its 45th Mainstage summer season with the farce, Or, What She Will, a fast and witty play directed by Morgan Gould. This play by Liz Duffy Adams imagines Aphra Behn, the first recognized female playwright, during one raucous, racy night in the 1600s. Performances will run from June 13-22 with matinee and evening shows.

The open call is part of the theatre's artist development programme, ROAR. It will focus on the early development of ideas, drafts and works-in-progress of any performance style and size and offers a week of funded research and development, culminating in a public event at the theatre on Sunday 27 October.

Head Trick Theatre announces its 2019-20 season, "In War With Time," following its recently acclaimed productions of Goblin Market and Watch on the Rhine. Featuring two U.S. premieres, "In War With Time" is a season on an epic and an intimate scale, about the span of a life and the moments and choices that shape it.

The Children's Theatre, Full Circle, and Trustus all close their shows, but Chapin opens it's newest production!

OPENING! Columbia Children's Theatre presents THE THREE LITTLE PIGS with music by George Stiles and book and lyrics by Anthony Drewe. The production is directed by Paul Lindley II with choreography by Lisa Sendler and stars an ensemble cast. THE THREE LITTLE PIGS opens Saturday, April 20 and runs through Sunday, April 28. USC's CURIOUS INCIDENT says goodnight, Trustus' GATSBY keeps swinging, and the HT@MTC Performance Incubator launches its newest project - a world premiere from Full Circle Productions!

The UofSC Dept. of Theatre and Dance, in partnership with Full Circle Productions, will present the world-premiere production of Aphra Behn: Wanton. Wit. Woman. April 21-28, 2019 at the Center for Performance Experiment.

Opening on Saturday 6 April, Kent's Remarkable Writers: The Worlds of Christopher Marlowe, Aphra Behn and Joseph Conrad explores the lives of three writers, their connections to Canterbury and the different times in which they lived.

The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities continues the third season of its critically acclaimed Black Box Repertory on March 15, 2019, with the world premiere of Sin Street Social Club, a comedic adaptation about women discovering their destinies on the swinging streets of 1916 New Orleans written by Colorado creative Jessica Austgen and directed by Lynne Collins.  This production is underwritten by Diana and Mike Kinsey.  The 2018 - 2019 Theatre Season Presenting Sponsor is Lutheran Medical Center.
