Shakespeare & Company presents the critically-acclaimed drama, Mothers and Sons by Tony Award-winning playwright Terrence McNally, directed by James Warwick. Honoring Trustee Michael A. Miller for his twenty-five years of service, Shakespeare & Company held its 2018 Season Gala on Saturday, June 30th. The sold-out benefit, co-chaired by Rhea Werner and Suzanne Werner, was the most successful in Company history, raising more than $400,000 for Training, Education, and Performance programs.

And counted also the laughs that came with each slam. 753. Exactly. Hey, it's a farce. And a brilliant one, written back in 1982 by Englishman Michael Frayn.

Amy Herzog's 2013 Pulitzer Prize finalist and 2012 Obie Award-winner for Best New Play opens the 40th Anniversary Season in Lenox under new Artistic Director Allyn Burrows. Annette Miller gives an incredible performance as the widowed nonagenarian Vera Joseph who is visited by her 21-year-old, untethered grandson Leo in her West Village apartment. These two outsiders engage in a series of battles, only to discover how much they have in common. Under the direction of Nicole Ricciardi, 4000 MILES is a delight from coast to coast.

Shakespeare & Company opens their 40th Anniversary Season with 4000 Miles written by Amy Herzog, and directed by Nicole Ricciardi. This Pulitzer Prize finalist and Winner of the 2012 Obie Award for Best New Play explores growing up, growing old and the moments in between. The acclaimed comic drama runs at the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre from May 25 to July 16, 2017.

Shakespeare & Company announces its lineup for the 2017 summer season, which includes three Shakespeare plays: Cymbeline, The Tempest, and A Midsummer Night's Dream; plus two Edith Wharton comedies, Roman Fever and the newly adapted The Fullness of Life. Additional titles include the Obie Award winning 4,000 Miles by Amy Herzog; New York Drama Critics Circle and the Outer Critics Circle Recipient, Intimate Apparel by Lynn Nottage; and Tony Award Winner, God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza.

Shakespeare & Company has announced its lineup for the 2016 summer season, which includes three Shakespeare plays: The Merchant of Venice, The Two Gentlemen of Verona and Twelfth Night, plus the Regional Premieres of Or, by Liz Duffy Adams, and Lauren Gunderson's The Taming. Additional titles include Ugly Lies the Bone by Lindsey Ferrentino a bracing drama fresh from an acclaimed Off-Broadway production, Sotto Voce by Pulitzer Prize winner Nilo Cruz, and the return of Stephan Wolfert in Cry 'Havoc!'

The Boston Center for American Performance (BCAP) and Boston Playwrights' Theatre (BPT) co-production of Robert Brustein's political satire Exposed opens next week.

Fresh from their starring roles in 'Cymbeline' at the Delacorte Theater in New York, real life couple Lily Rabe and Hamish Linklater will appear together at Shakespeare & Company in a special Staged Reading of Shakespeare's great historical tragedy Richard III, to benefit the Company's performance, training, and education programs.  This special event is scheduled for Saturday, October 10 at 2 p.m. in the Tina Packer Playhouse. Ms. Rabe will portray Queen Elizabeth, opposite Mr. Linklater who is cast in the title role.  The reading will also feature Tina Packer, Annette Miller and other special guests, and will be directed by Co-Artistic Director Jonathan Croy.

Berkshire Theatre Group presents Annette Miller in Now Is Our Time, part of the On The Stage Series, featuring Joy Franz, Annette Miller and Joan Coombs, with musical direction by Matti Kovler, at The Colonial Theatre Saturday, August 29th at 7pm.

Opening Night is tonight, July 31 at 8pm, and the production closes Sunday, August 9 at 8pm.

Shakespeare & Company's Midsummer Night's Celebration, held last weekend, was a magical and unforgettable evening that celebrated the Bard's 450th birthday and the Company's 37thseason. Artistic Director Tony Simotes and Co-Chairs Phoebe Giddon and Deborah Ryan presented an enchanting evening with a New Orleans Jazz Era theme, and welcomed over 250 guests to the Tina Packer Playhouse. Guests of Honor included Governor Deval Patrick and Shakespeare & Company's newly appointed Executive Director Rick Dildine.
