This re-conceived version of Jane Eyre is the result of a yearlong collaboration between CMT's Artistic Director, Miles J. Charlotte Bronte's book, 'Jane Eyre,' is a gothic melodrama which centers on strong-minded Jane's cruel treatment by her sadistic cousin and aunt, being shipped off to jail-like boarding school, departing to become a nanny for the ward of the wealthy but psychologically tortured Edward Fairfax with whom she falls in love, and the resulting angst of secrets revealed.

BWW Review: ONCE at the John W. Engeman Theatre

One thing is certain: Northport's stunning John W. Engeman Theatre never disappoints. This especially with their latest offering of the eight-time Tony winning musical Once. The absolutely exquisite incarnation, running through March 4th, is outstandingly directed by Trey Compton and boasts an incredibly gifted and beautiful cast. Based on the 2007 movie, the story centers on a woman and a man (not officially named in the show) who, besides instant attraction, are drawn to each other by music. However, it is a complicated and heart-tugging situation.

When Indecent aired on PBS's Great Performances it was missing some of the elements that helped it earn the 2017 Tony Award for Best Direction. Ironically, a play with a deep history of censorship, one that was put on trial for obscenity, was once again too provocative to be seen as intended. Now, for the first time ever outside of the Cort Theatre, it can be seen completely uncensored when it comes to BroadwayHD.

INDECENT, Paula Vogel's award-winning play at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street), celebrated its 100thperformance on Broadway last night. The production, the miracle on 48th Street, originally scheduled to close on June 25, was instead extended for six more weeks, running through August 6, as a result of increased ticket sales and passionate audience response.
