The world premiere production of "Venice" opens this Sunday (October 17) at 6:30 p.m.

The cast and designers have been set for the world premiere production of 'Venice,' which begins rehearsals September 7, 2010.

Eric Rosen and Matt Sax, creators of the Rep's hip hop sensation Clay, present their new musical, Venice, April 11-May 9 at Copaken Stage. Rosen, who is artistic director of Kansas City Rep, directs. Choreography is by John Carrafa (Tony Award nominations for Urinetown and Into the Woods) and Tanisha Scott (video choreography for Sean Paul, Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Rihanna and many additional recording artists).

Rehearsals began March 16 at Kansas City Repertory Theatre for the world premiere production of Venice, an explosive new musical written by Rep artistic director Eric Rosen and Matt Sax, creators of the hit hip hop musical Clay. Broadway in South Africa will be the featured entertainment for tonight's opening dinner for the US Fund for UNICEF's 2009 Annual Meeting entitled 'Believe in Zero.' CNN's Anderson Cooper, of Anderson Cooper 360, is the guest speaker. The event takes place tonight, Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 6:30 p.m at the Altman Building, 135 West 18th Street.

The 'RENT: Filmed Live on Broadway' DVD release party was held at Life Cafe on February 2nd, 2009 in New York City. 'RENT' stars Renee Elise Goldsberry, Andrea Goss, Tracy McDowell, Rodney Hicks, Jay Wilkison and Adam Kantor attended the event and BWW joined in on all the action.
