Goodspeed Musicals announced today that it will produce the world premiere of Christmas in Connecticut – A New Musical this holiday season at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Conn.

The 30th Annual Kleban Prize For Musical Theatre reception was held on Monday, February 3.

The Fourth Act has announced a private industry reading for the new musical, THE TIN WOMAN, based on the Sean Grennan play of the same name. The private industry reading will be held in New York City on December 13, 2019.

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre kicks off their Fall Events week with Thank You, 30!, a gala event to be held on Monday, October 22nd at Guastavino's (409 East 59th Street) celebrating the 30th Annual Festival of New Musicals. The benefit gala will honor Marleen & Kenny Alhadeff and New World Stages. The gala performance will be directed by Amy Corcoran with music direction by Ian Eisendrath and orchestrations by Rona Siddiqui.

With rehearsals starting today, the full cast has been announced for Aria Entertainment's prestigious festival of new musical theatre, From Page To Stage (FPTS), which returns with gusto for a 6th successful year from September 2018 at London's Southwark Playhouse. Jane Deitch has cast the 37-strong company, who will each star in one of the seven brand new musicals featured in the 2018 festival.

Houston's Alley Theatre will open a new musical comedy, FREAKY FRIDAY, on June 2 to will play through July 2. A co-production by La Jolla Playhouse, Cleveland Playhouse, and Alley Theatre, directed by Christopher Ashley, this wild classic has been translated into a contemporary musical comedy based on Mary Rodger's novel of the same name, with music and lyrics by Tom Kitt and   Brian Yorkey of Next to Normal and If/Then. On September 16th, 2016 Masterworks Broadway released the World Premiere Recording of the award winning new hit Polkadots: The Cool Kids Musical. Written by Douglas Lyons, Melvin Tunstall, III and Greg Borowsky, Polkadots is a new musical inspired by the true events of the Civil Rights pioneers Ruby Bridges and The Little Rock Nine. The album's release was celebrated in a concert presentation at The Lindeman (508 w42) on Monday Oct 24th, 2016.
