Voting has opened for the 2015 BroadwayWorld Dallas Regional Awards! Check out the latest live stats as of November 27th. Nominations were reader-submitted and after the nomination period ended, BroadwayWorld's local editors proofed the list for eligibility and errors. Voting runs through December 31.
BWW Reviews: OKLAHOMA! at The Firehouse Theatre

Not only is OKLAHOMA! celebrated as the inaugural collaboration between theatre icons Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, but it's also credited as the first "book musical," a musical play where the songs and dances are fully integrated into the context of the show. Based on its reputation as an easy-to-produce, family-friendly favorite, OKLAHOMA! is a staple among theatres across the country. This season, the show happens to appear in several local line-ups, and last Thursday I rode my surrey out to Farmer's Branch to catch the final dress rehearsal of Firehouse Theatre's endearing production.

Description: Depression era, lower east side, Manhattan. Author Mrs. Chaste is banned by the church because her children's stories depict the supernatural. She befriends Damian, a local devil who attempts to annihilate the corrupt Pastor Beagle, to free Mrs. Chaste from censorship and to return to the living. A musical comedy in one act, this production features Jessica Lauren Copland, Jonathan Mesisca, Ben Boecker, Alexandra Cassens, Martin Everall, Paul Fraccalvieri, Robbin Major and Julie Lauren Stevens.
