The Tony Awards Administration Committee met today for the third time this season and confirmed the eligibility status of seven Broadway productions for the 2019 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards®. The Tony Awards Administration Committee will meet a total of four times throughout the 2018-2019 season to decide the eligibility for the 73rd Annual Tony Awards.

The Off-Broadway League today announced nominations in 19 categories - and bestowed one special award - for the 34th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway. The Awards will be handed out on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at NYU Skirball Center for Performing Arts, beginning at 7:00pm EST. The Lucille Lortel Awards are produced by the Off-Broadway League by special arrangement with the Lucille Lortel Theatre Foundation. Additional support is provided by TDF. Beloved and celebrated entertainer, Wayne Brady, will emcee the ceremony.

Emmy-Winning Journalist & Comedian Faith Salie Opens One-Woman Show At Alliance Theatre

The Alliance Theatre is pleased to present the world premiere production of Approval Junkie, by and starring Faith Salie.  A comedian and Emmy Award-winning journalist best known for her roles on NPR's Wait Wait…Don't Tell Me! and CBS News Sunday Morning, Salie returns home to Georgia to adapt her memoir into a heartfelt (and disturbingly hilarious) one-woman show.  Approval Junkie is directed by Amanda Watkins and premieres on the Hertz Stage April 5 - 28, 2019.  Opening night is Wednesday, April 10, 2019.

The 2019 NY Indie Theatre Film Festival opens tonight, February 8 at 7pm, with the NY festival premiere of Poor Behavior (2016), written by Theresa Rebeck. Based on her play of the same name, Ms. Rebeck (upcoming spy thriller 355, Broadway's Bernhardt/Hamlet, NBC's 'Smash') makes her film directorial debut with this dark, dysfunctional comedy. Rebeck will participate in a talkback after the screening, moderated by Marc Stuart Weitz, New Ohio Theatre's Producing Director.

Chase Brock, the contemporary choreographer behind the Broadway-bound production Be More Chill and the Artistic Director of Brooklyn-based dance company The Chase Brock Experience, announced today that the company will hold its annual gala following a special performance of The Girl with the Alkaline Eyes on Monday, January 7 at 7:00pm.
