The Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF) presented its first-ever NYC Summer Performing Arts Intensive this June 8 - 14, 2015 at RWS & Associates in Long Island City, NY.

The Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF) will give aspiring Atlanta-area performers a chance to make their 'big break' when the program presents Generation: The 2015 Summer Intensive Tour. The Atlanta program, which will focus on the development of new works, will take place today, May 26 through Saturday, May 30, 2015.

Manhattan Theatre Club just presented their annual Spring Gala last night, at Cipriani 42nd Street (110 East 42nd Street). This year's gala was hosted by Tony Award winner Jane Krakowski ('The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,' Nine) and featured special guest and Tony Award nominee for Airline Highway K. Todd Freeman, and performances by many of the most acclaimed musicals on Broadway including: Beautiful, Finding Neverland, Gigi, It Shoulda Been You, On The Town, Something Rotten!, and The Visit. The Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF) will give aspiring performers across the country their "big break" when the program embarks on Generation: The 2015 Summer Intensive Tour. The national non-profit training program will present an incredible roster of Broadway directors, performers, and industry insiders who will offer highly personalized musical theatre training and mentoring through unique, week-long performing arts intensive workshops for students of all ages, skill levels, and socio-economic backgrounds.

Producers Paul Blake and Sony/ATV Music Publishing announced today that Award-winning Canadian actress Chilina Kennedy, who made her Broadway debut as 'Mary Magdalene' in Jesus Christ Superstar, has nabbed the title role in Beautiful-The Carole King Musical, the smash hit musical about the early life and career of the legendary and groundbreaking singer/songwriter. Kennedy begins performances on March 7, 2015, succeeding Tony Award-winner Jessie Mueller, who will play her final performance in Beautiful on March 6 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre (124 West 43rd Street).

WITNESS UGANDA, created by Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews, which had its premiere at A.R.T. earlier this year under the direction of Diane Paulus, will receive an upcoming reading in New York City, produced by Kevin McCollum and Ashley Melone. Much of the cast from the reading is returning from the ART production.

It is steeped in the tradition of speakeasy shows that became popular during the rise of the Harlem Renaissance, performed in after-hours joints all across the Midwest and East Coast.
