- 9 Works Theatrical, which produced last year's professional theater production of Clark Gesner's '60s musical comedy "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown," is currently working on a revival production of Marvin Hamlisch and Carol Bayer Sager's late '70s hit Broadway musical "They're Playing Our Song," which pairs up for the first time TV and recording artist Nikki Gil (who plays disorganized, quirky lyricist Sonia Walsk) and veteran stage actor Lorenz Martinez (who plays accomplished composer Vernon Gersch). Tony winner Lea Salonga and Singaporean actor/director Adrian Pang played Walsk and Gersch respectively in a previous local production of "They're Playing Our Song."

Local theatregoers can still catch Atlantis Productions and Singapore Repertory Theatre's joint production of Yasmina Reza's Tony Award-winning play GOD OF CARNAGE, starring Tony winner Lea Salonga, Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, Adrian Pang, and Art Acuña, on Saturday, July 21 at 2 and 8 p.m., and on Sunday, July 22 at 3 and 8 p.m. (Friday, July 20 show is sold out) at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza in Makati City - unless you would rather travel to Singapore in November in time for the show's run at the DBS Arts Centre.

Atlantis Productions (In the Heights, Disney's The Little Mermaid) has just released the poster for its upcoming production of Yasmina Reza's Tony Award-winning play God of Carnage, starring Lea Salonga (Les Miserables, Miss Saigon), Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo (Next to Normal, Love, Loss, And What I Wore), Adrian Pang (The Full Monty, They're Playing Our Song), and Art Acuña (The Romance of Magno Rubio, Kitchen Musical). To be directed by Bobby Garcia (In the Heights, Disney's The Little Mermaid), God of Carnage will premiere in Manila in July, and in Singapore in November through a partnership with Singapore Repertory Theatre. Adrian and Tracie Pang's Pangdemonium! Productions (FULL MONTY, CLOSER) recently opened its production of Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik's Tony Award-winning period, indie rock musical SPRING AWAKENING at Drama Center Theatre (100 Victoria Street, #05-01, National Library Building). The show stars Nathan Hartono as Melchior Gabor (originally played by Jonathan Groff on Broadway), and Filipina actress, singer Julia Abueva as Wendla Bergmann (a role created by GLEE star Lea Michele on Broadway).
